Interesting lists. In a h2h view I think both Klitschkos particularly Wladimir should be higher. A lot of guys like Marciano and Louis I just couldnt see winning due to the mismatch in size.

I just think in a fight game there isn't much difference between a man from 1900 and a man from 2000.

Well he'd have beaten the best hw in the world and thus become that man himself. A rematch over byrd and it'd have been hard picturing anyone ever beating him.

Not so much expecting him to go undefeated as not expecting anyone fighter to beat him. All it means is I put him above 50% vs every one of those 39 fighters. That's not to say in an actual career he'd beat them consecutively, it's to say you pick any of them names and i'd make them the underdog vs him.

Langford's run between 1909 and 1915 was amazing, add his past prime knockout victories over godfrey and wills and I think he's only losing to those I mention.

As you said, it's all subjective. Langford and rocky will never fight so unfortunately we'll never know. My hunch is he wins, your hunch is he doesn't :good

Okay, I got you. So you don't work with statistics in mind, it's just a flat favorite vs underdog system. That leads to unrealistic results in my view but at least your consistent. I don't quite know the entire inter-workings of your system but when I thought of mine I was going to a 10 fight H2H series (No wear & tear). Rarely would a fighter go 10/10 in such a matchup (Besides awful style matchups).

Ugh, Langford was great but there's nothing on film to really suggest such a hunch. Just look at the footage of McVea vs Jeannete that was recently posted. It's underwhelming. It was just a different time.

That's the one. If I roll a dice I don't expect to get a six but every so often that's exactly what i'll get :good so over 39 individual throws i'd expect each throw to give a non 6 as opposed to a 6 but I can obviously see that i'd likely hit about 6 6's altogether despite going 39-0 as my initial hypothesis. Obviousy i'd probably guess it to be 33-6 but I wouldn't guess any individual throw to hit a 6. Hope you get that.

Either system has it's own positive's and negatives. But yeah I pick louise as a favourite over any of the 39 hw's who hit top spot by my estimation.

Meh, a hunch it remains. Not like i'm betting money on a fight, just giving my 2 cents.

That is what many people thought, he always surprised guys in ring. In many big fights, like Walcott and Layne, he was underdog.

Over 25 hw's in this thread and both your posts have been about the same 2 brothers.

Take your man crush back to the general forum and leave the grown ups to discuss boxing :good

    Great work lufcrazy. :good
Good effort, and it's always nice to see the method to the madness : completely transparent criteria etc.

But, for me, the thing falls apart where Ali loses to Tyson.

Yeah transparency is the way forward :good

Yeah every pick is as valid as the next etc. Unfortunately we'll never see for real will we :-( I can just picture tyson catching ali with a brutal hook combo.
