Ottke was a very good boxer, a good alphabet champion, but compared him with Toney is just ridicolous... they are clearly in different levels. Toney also fought much better fighters

In my opinion Toney lost to Tiberi and win both fights with Griffin an the first fight with McCallum.

Well the TS is a known Toney hater on here, so this thread cannot even be taken serious. It's just so biased. Plus Bailey is also known to agree on his own posts with various aliases.

Comparing Toney and Ottke is quite ridiculous as both are so different and clearly on another level. The only point of the TS is to try and degrade Toneys career. Take away both mens close fights, or 'robberies', and Toneys resume still stands head and feet above Ottkes. True, Toney got a gift against Tiberi, but he also got robbed a couple times himself (like both Griffin fights). I can't remember a single close (or even not so close) fight where Ottke wasn't given the decision.

By the way, the TS insinuated in another thread that Marvin Hagler wasn't an ATG. That should tell you.

Ottke hid in a country that, in boxing, is borderline corrupt; he knew the decision would never go to his opponent. Ottke was a B+ fighter who was able to protect his record through dubious means. **** Sven Ottke.

Griffin was an accomplished amateur - who at one point lived and trained with Toney. On top of that he was trained by Eddie Futch who at that point had worked out the blueprint to beat Toney. The fact that Grffin would go on to beat Jones - should tell you that at that point of his career he was a top contender.
He won that fight and would prove he was the better man by fighting and beating him again
That version of Jones would of given any top smw fits.
Flawed logic you are comparing Toney at his worst to Ottke at his best. And who did Ottke beat at his best? Brewer and Reid. So because he beat a computer programmer and a pornstar - he now has a good chance against Toney?

I'd be surprised if Abraham landed that many.

In fairness to AA, he was taking a huge amount of Ward's punches to the gloves. Although the jab was effective at keeping AA off him, Ward wasn't scoring a lot of those punches.

Froch was shooting straight through the middle and actually scoring with the jab.

Ottke vs Reid fight is the worsed fight I have every seen. I did not watch a fight for three years afterwards. Ottke may have got home town decision based on Europeans scoring like amateurs e.g. landing shots not power shots. That is fair enough, coaching a ref to tell oppentent off for landing proper punches while he head butts, holds, hits on the break is not okay.

Ottke is not a guy who got just hometown decision sometimes, like you could level at Eubank. He systematically cheated. He is the most shameful fighter in German history period. He new he was a cheat and did not care.

So how was Toney more than an alphabet champ at SMW onwards?
Toney also lost to much worse fighters. Dont forget that.
Why are they different levels, Ottke beat better fighters than Thadzi who beat Toney

Im no hater of Toney, but dont hide the fact that he is a proven cheat. Im shocked you try and forget that.
Im not downgrading Toney or Ottkes careers but am asking why some like to ignore all of Toneys close fights and losses yet call every Ottke fight a robbery.
What fights do you feel Ottke lost?

I have never insinuated Haglers not an ATG or that he is for that, so dont tell lies

P.S. I dont have any aliases.

A lot of fighters have a lot of close fights and losses - it's what tends to happen especially if you have a lot of fights. It also would of made more sense to compare Toney's career to Eubank's, because they are very similar in that respect.

Otkke was Super Middle Champ as much as Berto was Welterweight champ. He wasn't.

I didn't know Berto was no.1 in his division for several years making 20+ defenses of his title.

IBF? **** off mate. He defended his WBA title 5 times which he defended against Starie (Brit Level), Larsen (Euro, at Best), Reid (who got told to stop hitting him :rofl ) and Krajnc (who was three fights removed from getting knocked out by someone who's biggest achievment was winning the Russian Middleweight Title).

    20+ defenses don't make me ****.
