Toney doesn't give a **** about hitting the mitts. He goes to work during the sparring sessions.

That's how prime Toney fought...start strong, then take half a round off. Even with the down time, he was impressive to watch.

How come its 12 rounds? I didn't think there was a belt at stake... is it for the interim WBA?

I agree (which is also a testament to RJJ's boxing technique which people like to pretend he had none of.)

He may simply be relaxing in that spot on the mitts, and maybe that's how he trains since his demeanor is so relaxed in the ring, but he definitely wasn't lounging around in order to lose all that weight. I hope he can put on a good show, I'm glad he's trimmed down. Hopefully he can make something of it.

If Toney beats Lebedev he should challenge Povetkin, he can def beat him.
I just hope James still has energy left.

Toney looks good, but looks are deceiving. He lost about 60lbs (sixty pounds!!!) in less than 9 months, at age 43 that takes its toll on his body. He'll probably be weight-drained and weak. Being a fan, I hope he can really turn back the clock once again and beat that Lebedev, whose style is tailor-made for Toney. But I'm still very sceptic.

Every great fighter has one last great fight in him, but in Toneys case that last great fight might have been a couple years ago when he beat Sam Peter in their first fight, but got robbed...

And I'm a bit pissed that he finally got himself in good shape now, when it's probably too late for him to really shake things up in the HW division - even if he should beat that Lebedev - instead of some 5-6 years ago, when it really mattered.

Lebedev is heavy handed and on his own turf. Father time creepin' in on Toney...

    I don't see a win here for JT :-(
