http://bjpenn.com/news/2011/10/26/video-nick-diaz-talks-bj-penn-6824.html Who is this guy???? Maybe he knows he's going to get is ass whooped :huh
Care to expound on why you hold that opinion HENDO, or are you just talking **** because you MAY end up looking like a fight picking savant for going with the underdog?
I look at Nick Diaz as MMA's Margarito to be honest with you. He has looked very good, but has not been tested against the sports elite yet. He is slow but effective, but has not been in there with anyone who's able to exploit his weaknesses in a long time. BJ Penn vs Diaz is going to be similar to Mosley vs Margarito - A violent one sided beating GSP vs Diaz would've been similar to Pacquaio vs Margarito - a long clinical, one sided decision victory
No I meant as in the fight will go the distance, he will dominate him, beat him up....but not stop him. :deal
I dont know what people expect BJ to do so differently then everyone else does vs Diaz. If we are talking about this fight just as a striking fight why would you believe BJ kills him ? BJ is a great striker but this isnt Matt Hughes or any of the guys BJ has destroyed on his feet. Since leaving the UFC Diaz has pretty much faced strikers only whether its Scott Smith, Gomi, KJ Noons, Paul Daley, Cyborg, Zaromskis etc. I wont say any of them are as good as BJ but he took a million roundhouse kicks from Cyborg with no problem, he gave Noons the boxing veteran a lesson in how to jab, ate Smith and Gomi's punches with no problem and got up from a PAUL DALEY left hook to talk **** and knock him out moments later. Nick Diaz is a pure badass.
Penn's boxing is light years better than the guys listed above, Diaz is there to be hit and relies on volume and reach to overwhelm opponents and the best way to nullify volume and reach is head movement and a sharper jab than the bigger guy has. Penn has those things in spades and he's an extremely competent finisher when he has his man in trouble. Nick's pawing jab is going to be met with Penn's sneaky left hook and stiff jab, and his winging left hand is going to invite Penn's best punch, the lead straight right, and unlike everyone else who has connected on Nick and hurt him, Penn isn't going to be afraid to follow him to the ground in the least because he's the superior grappler.
