stephen smith and joe murray didnt box to instructions in there fights its not joe gallaghers fault they lose the fights.
Best move for both men, Could see Joe was hurt and loves the kid (no Nightingale). He knows Murray and his strengths and weaknesses and John knows this is last chance saloon at this level really.
Couldn't really see anyone else training him tbh, his style is come forward and hope to outlast the opponent. As basic as that tactic is I would hate to see another trainer trying to get him to box off the back foot or something wildly different in his world title shot.
gallagher has a good stable of fighters but when i watch Murray v Mitchell, Murray's basics (footwork, head movement & ringcraft) were awfull and that makes wonder about his training!
He was on the **** two weeks before fight in Germany while out there with Macklin for world title fight. The guy has himself to blame he underestimated Mitchell. Murray got into attitude he could walk through anyone and hopefully that loss has shaken him up.
It's still an awful fight for Murray to take as for me he is at best a European level fighter. Rios will destroy him.
Yep agree, but if he is going to beat a world level fighter he needs to do a bit more than just march forward taking punches to land his own, that works up until a certain level. I very much doubt Murray is good enough to win a world titlte, but its probably a big money fight for him.
Has this been confirmed by anyone that matters ? I can't find anyone reasonably in the know who can confirm this.
