I already followed Pac when he was in the blow by blow fights in the Philippines.

He was not even a champion then, and my brother knew of a friend of Torrecampo, who knocked out Pac.

Apparently Torrecampo to that friend admitted that Pac punches hard but he was more veteran and savvier when they met.

    Morales-Pacquiao I.

There was this guy on SecondsOut (probably the same guy that was banned here for tellin' everybody that Pacquiao was gonna smash Hatton, DLH, Cotto, Mayweather etc) YEARS AGO that swore up and down that Pacquiao was the best fighter in the world lb 4 lb, hands down. That was before Morales, Barrera.. any of it!

So, after Morales-Pacquiao I, I was dissapointed in his, Pacquiao's, one armed attack. I was very impressed with the way he stuck with it though, after that nasty headbutt cut. He hung tough. 'Probably a fighting spirit equal to Holyfield and Duran etc, I've since seen/confirmed.. roger that.. EVERY BIT. So now I know exactly what kind of spirit lies behind his newfound right hand and quick lateral movement (with purpose).

have seen him a couple of times in blow by blow but couldn't remember the exact opponents. what i could vividly remember was him going to thailand to fight sasakul and won. also his loss to singsurat was a big news back then.

    Manny Pacquaio against Chachai Sasakul.

The Philippines was kinda smarting after the Espinoza and Velazco robberies and we were looking for a new champion to hold up the Philippine standard. Lo and behold comes this wild knockout artist coming out of GenSan.

Back then, many doubt Pacquiao abilities. The late editor in chief(sports) of Tempo, used to hate Pacquiao. He even told, that any top 10 fighter from Mexican will TKO or KO Pacquiao. That editor in chief is high on Tunacao, but look at what happened to Tunacao. To bad he did not see Pacquiao rising to the top.

I admit, back then I doubts Pacquiao's abilities. And like others here, I give him no chance to beat MAB in their first fight.

This one. Morales went southpaw in the 12th, and Pacquiao discovered the right hook.. over and over (since vastly improved). Pacquiao should thank Morales for this display.

never really paid attention to him
first real fight i watched completely was versus cotto
I remember he hit him with like 4 punches so fast, they were some damaging punches
he was strafing him out of the blue, on a different level of speed and intensity
