So many, but having read the book and seen the doc,Johnny Owen sticks in my mind.
And Salvador Sanchez' death robbed us of an all time great.Only two of many though.

    ****off.

Anyway, people will mention Duk Koo Kim etc, the man who died after his fight with Ray Mancini, but given the choice, I think it's kinder to die like a warrior, than live on like a shell like Gerrald Mcclelan has to do. Everytime I see a feature on how he is, it upsets me. A quiet spoken young man with the world at his feet, one fight later and he's got nothing.

His father and sisters ended up fighting over what little money he had left, while he sat in the corner unable to string a sentance together, hear or move. His vision is basically gone and he now resides in a care home, where he'll most probably die without anyone giving a damn. He can't even remember his boxing career.

Don King said after the Benn fight that Mcclelan 'quit like a dog' while the man was fighting for his life. The only person in the boxing world, who gave a damn was Roy Jones who helped out financially.
