Just read Ricky's new interview in this weeks BN.As a personality,I really liked Ricky. He was great for UK boxing and did a lot for the sport here, but
I always felt his huge popularity was disproportionate to his somewhat limited ability in the grand scheme.I thought his achievements were superb
but in say,Las Vegas on any other night,I think a peak Kostya wins emphatically, but the planets were aligned for Hatton that night, and while I
still pick Kostya,I think it would have been closer only on that night.I always wondered how a peak Kostya would deal with Ricky's head to the chest roughhousing.
Apologies if this has been done before.
    What do you think?

    Hatton overrated.

It says alot about a fighter when his biggest win is against and aged battle worn fighter.

He got exposed as soon as left his backyard.

    Same Ref? :hey

Kostya will probably be rated at the top 140 fighter in history, he really was good, people arguing that he shouldn't be in the hall of fame are morons.

I disagree with people who don't rate Ricky Hatton, he was alot more than a glorified club fighter. He had explosive speed, not his hands but his feet, look how quick he could manouver, this is what gave Floyd trouble during their fight. Hatton was a great example of chin, heart and conditioning, along with a mauling style and savage body attack, he gives most JWW's in history a tough fight, whether people are prepared to admit it or not.

If that fight happened, I think a prime Kostya lands enough shots to win a UD, people would argue the stoppage, but the M.E.N was rocking that night, and every one of them was behind Hatton, he used that and would of walked through walls to win that night, it was a peak Hatton in terms of determination and pure will to win. I think he walks on to too many, leading to a 116-112 type win for Kostya. Hatton would win rounds by rushing Tszyu, but the same relentless agression would be his downfall.

    Yes course he did.

In reality KT was his first real world class test his opponents upto then were either past there best or just solid 140 lb fighters top ten fighters.

After the KT fight he proves he was a world class fighter and would give all 140 lb fighters problems, he fought some good fighters like Urango,Paulie,Collazo and showed he deserves to mix at world class he was never elite, and that night against KT was his night different circumstances on another night might of been different.

But lets not start a slanging match about how over rated Hatton was he was a world class fighter that is a fact, but just short of being elite.

I wanna know whey Tszyu was 'Battle worn' - he had less fights than Hatton and wasn't exactly in many gruelling wars of atrition. Looked OK against Mitchell and I don't remeber anybody calling him 'Battle worn' before the Hatton fight.

Hatton was tougher that night. Kostya was not ready for that rugged of a fight. Hatton also got away with some deliberate retaliatory low blows that would not of flown anywhere outside of England. Hatton wanted it more that night..

    What a load of BS.

Exposed? He lost to Mayweather and Manny only!

He was always more of a brawler than a pure boxer but give the guy some credit.. exposed is not the right way of putting it.

    Yes EXPOSED.

Collazo was the one to do it well before he got put to sleep by Manny and Floyd.
