Past welterweights that you think would beat Floyd Mayweather

He's a big welterweight with concussive power and Mayweather's legs have slowed too much at this weight. When I watch him fight in the late 1990s and the early/mid 2000s compared to now, it just looks like night and day as far as movement in concerned. I think he'd catch up with Mayweather and make him extra defensive and cautious. I could see Mayweather's technical superiority getting him a close win though, but Trinidad would be a danger from minute 1 to 36.

 

Yup, but he also beat some of the very best. Again, it would all depend on the era, really. Zivic was never DQ'd (at least I don't think so off-hand), but he had a reputation for being among the dirtiest fighters ever, so it's a tough call as to what they would allow to go in this one.

duran wouldn't beat floyd at welter,not in the first go anyway

i love the guy but a guy like floyd at any weight above lightweight would win a decision against roberto

 

he'd do a judah to mosley i.e figure out his speed after the first few rounds and dominate him.the trick would be not getting hit too cleanly in the first 3 or 4 rounds.after that mosley becomes and always became too predictable (overhand rights seem to be that hands only use).floyd beats mosley any weight any time in my eyes

but of course i could be wrong its all only fantasy

 

When Duran fought Palomino and SRL in Montreal, he was as good as I've ever seen him. In a class above Mayweather.

 

Aaron Pryor... he was a junior welterweight but than again so is Floyd really.

 

none of them win.infact none come close except pac and mosley

williams would be so dismantled it wouldn't even be funny and cotto would resemble a piece of uncooked steak after the bell.they'd both both probably last the distance though

realistically the only fighters i'd favour over prime floyd at welter are hearns,de la hoya and both sugar rays

whitaker,forrest and napoles are toss ups to be honest

 

palomino wasn't as good as mayweather though in my opinion.and that sugar ray fight was special,i really believe if duran tried a hundred times he would never be able to fight better than he did that night.and ray helped by playing into his hands.floyd wouldn't do that and that spells disaster against duran as benitez and leonard in the rematch proved.duran would give hell though no doubt i just can't see him pulling it off

lightweight is a different matter all together though
