What's up everyone, My name is Charlie and I am a 24 year old amateur fighter boxing out of Newport News, VA. started training in March 2011, and had my latest fight in July at July justice in Washington d.c. Haven't fought since then due to me going to train with the Army in fort Jackson. Headed to The middle east where I will be working on base mostly. There is pretty much any equipment I need plus bags to hit on. With no coaches how can I improve my technique, develop better footwork, and drop to at least 178. My two fights I had were at 201, and I am walking around at 210. Thanks fellas hope to hear back from you guys soon.

Just keep practicing what your coaches have already taught you. And for the losing weight im sure you will be in better shape by then especially with all the military training and food .

If you can, record your bag/shadowboxing sessions so you can pick up on any bad habits and rectify them. Rather than practising the bad habits for how ever long your without a coach to put you right as your training.

With dropping the weight, unless you were shredded at 201 with very little fat on you, its as simple as eating less calories than your burning. Switch to a healthy diet and keep an eye on the amount of calories your eating. If you don't lose any weight over a couple of weeks, reduce the calories further.

+1, military reality is far more mundane then most people think.

Slick mick you have no idea what I am doing over there how could you say anything is mundane what the **** u do for a living. This is my third deployment everytime I go physical training is a mandatory. Just because you are in the military does not mean physical standards aren't mandatory. Especially with the military of today when you see so many people getting kicked out due to overmanning from more and more people wanting to join.

Wouldnt the fact your looking to drop weight and the fact you been deployed twice already kinda back up what there saying?

Why because I want to drop a weight class? I think that has more to do with me asking fellow boxers some tips. If a star football player wants to increase his skill would that mean he was some fat ass prior not at all

well we all know how to lose weight, its the putting into practice thats always the hard part. Eat healthy, no junk food, eat less, and workout more. Get some roadwork in when u wake up
