Morales did 150,000 PPV buys when he fought Carlso Hernandez.
Morales did about 90,000 PPV buys when he fought Maidana.

    yet Hops does 40k???

Hopkins is lucky to have had DeMarco vs. Linares as the supporting co-main event, cause had itr not been for that co-main event, Hops vs dawson would have been cancelled.

and dont let the STAPLES attendance fool you, cause many of those tickets were free give-aways to the locals (celebrities, DelaHoya's friends, etc.) that live a few miles from dowtown LA

Should have been on Showtime. If there is a rematch it probably will be on Showtime.

DeMarco and Linares are the only reason I didn't chuck my TV out the window after watching this PPV.

Hopkins have never been much of a draw. But this figure just shows how little interest Chad actually bought to the table he definately has no future on PPV and he is only just beginning his career really.

Only very few fighters are popular people underestimate how big an appeal the likes of Tyson, De le Hoya, Mayweather and Pacquiao are!

I thought the PPV would produce decent numbers, because this was a very good fight on paper, of course it didn't help the fight only lasted two rounds.

Yea. Hopkins was never a PPV draw. HBO Regular Casting is where he is best suited.

we all know this to be true....but to not take into affect that a month earlier people spent 50.00 - 60.00 bucks on the mayweather debacle.... i doubt the average person has 120.00 bucks to throw away on PPV fights these days, especially over here in the unites states of broke

Antonio Margarito is a much bigger draw than Hopkins will ever be.

Margarito sold out 22,000 seats at the STAPLES CENTER when he fought the steroid cheating-Shane "EPO-man" Mosley.

How many PPV are bought after the 2nd round? Very few I would think so I dont think the fact that fight only went a couple of rounds really had much impact on the numbers

Also Chad imo whilst a talented fighter doesnt bring huge support with him like say Pascal.

Benard could probably do decent numbers with a boxer with a good following such as Bute or Kessler.

I just dont think Chad would there wouldn't be much interest, I mean the dude doesnt have much personality and we have seen sometimes he fails to turn up on fight night and he definately isnt knocking guys out so no reason he will appeal to the casual fan!
