Early doors I think dempsey can beat rocky to the punch, avoid his fair share of shots and utilising his speed.

As rocky's heavy shots take their toll and his superb conditioning comes into play the tables will turn, I just think they'll turn too late.

Dempsey is competitive for 3 Rounds, then Marciano starts to **** him up like a $2 slut.

Rocky by KO in Rounds 7/8/9.

    Foreman Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook! :hat

Technically Marciano's ahead by 3 now, due to Terror's mistake.

I think I know the quote from O'Brien.
He thought Dempsey was slow when he first arrived in camp for the first Tunney fight. That's not a prime Dempsey, of course.

Anyway, maybe not everyone then. But Dempsey was fast in his prime, it's hardly something that needs to be subject to much "scientific doubt". The evidence - including film - is kind of overwhelming.

The "gulf in durability" between Tyson and Frazier (in Tyson's favour) is largely an abstract other-wordly reality that is never backed up by real world facts.

Tyson is one of those select few fighters for which reeling around with stars and tweety-bird circling one's head, completely oblivious or getting plastered all over the canvas is evidence of ATG durability.
For the vast majority of other known fighters the same things are signs of at least some degree of vulnerability or a LACK of durability.
