If it is easy to use PEDS in boxing, why are we not seeing many superboxers?

If It is so easy to use PEDS and get away with it, how come that boxing today is composed of 2-3 cream of the crop fighters and then just good boxers and tons of crappy ones.

Example ; Bradley would surely need PEDS to increase his powderpuff puncjes, or Andre Ward for instance.

boxing is a skill oriented sport, fernando vargas was on steroids when he fought de la hoya and didnt look any better than normal, he got outskilled

if it was a street fight vargas probably would have beat the living **** out of golden boy though

not so much in skill sports, mainly in simple sports like bodybuilding, cycling, swimming, baseball where muscles, stamina play a bigger role than skill

Even if you punch as fast as Pacquiao you will get tagged by someone like Marquez who is much slower.
It gives you advantages but it wont make you elite.

They aren't coming out of nowhere, they've been in the sport since the late 60's/early 70's.

If you don't know this about the sports world, you have never spent an honest hour looking into it.

You actually didn't answer the question of the OP. Why are there very few superboxers if PEDs can magically make them superboxers?

You are in fact contradicting the notion that PEDs can make an ordinary boxer an elite boxer. You said that PEDs has been around since the 60's and 70's yet we only have two superboxers now. How come? Are you saying that PEDs do not benefit the boxers?

All these claims about steroids being rife in boxing, have been greatly exaggerated since Floyd began launching crazy accusations. Not many people were concerned or acknowledged it as a serious problem, until they started jumping on the bandwagon.

First of all there are different kinds of PEDs.
Some make you stronger and enhance your muscles. (used in weightlifting, bodybuilding, discus, shot-put etc.)
Some give you better endurance (used in cycling, athletics, swimming for instance)
    And some give you both.

The ones that give you better endurance are the ones that are the most difficult to detect (like blood transfusions etc)

If a boxer uses PEDs that gives him a better endurance, he can go many rounds at the same pace... but it won't make him any better!
He won't hit harder, he won't improve his technique, he can't take punches better, he just can go on and on like a Duracell bunny.

So a good boxer with a good chin that usually gasses in the later rounds and gives away the fight at that point would benefit highly from that kinda PED... A boxer who didn't have that problem anyway would benefit far less.

Yes, it's a boxing forum... people here are pretend to know stuff about boxing

And the PEDs thing isn't some obscure thing what nobody knows anything about. If you watch sports in general dope issues are discussed very often, and for many, many years now.
Athlete A is caught on substance B that allows him to be better at C... nothing new about that.
