who do you feel wasted their talent the most. ali had a few years off as did SRL and floyd more recently but who is the best boxer to retire early and never return. the most obvious one for me is prince naseem hamed, despite common belife he still won a fair few rounds against barrera and there was quite alot of big fights at the time around his division. im not saying he could of beaten them all but if he could of focused on his training properly we could of have seen some competitive and fun fights.
michael spinks. could've moved back down to cruiserweight and dominated rof a few years after his ko loss to tyson.
I don't think Hamed could function properly now the world knew he could be well beaten.I think Haye has went out too early after showing himself up with the toe. That guy should at least have one more go if he doesn't want to be remembered for the wrong reasons.I wish Calzaghe had fought Hopkins again but I suppose he didn't retire "early"
I agree he would almost certainly have been Mexico's greatest but he didn't really choose to retire and not come back.Would top my list of who might have been the greatest though.
Nah, Marciano retired at just the right time... he was starting to look a lot older and slower in his last few fights, and he never had the style suited for longevity anyway.
This :deal.. There was also some good rising contenders, so Marciano made right choice and retired when he was starting to decline..
Tito's first retirement after the Hopkins loss, he could of gone back to 154. A few decent wins and then a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya would of been huge.
I think after Johnson, jeffries could be a good contender but I'm not sure, he looked **** against Johnson.
