Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson, prime for prime, who wins?

well regardless of who you think would win, there has to be doubts. At the very least it's a close call either way. After all, they're both considered top 5 H2H fighters, so it's not a slam dunk to pick one over the other unless one is completely biased.

The version of Lewis who beat Razor Ruddock could potentially beat Tyson, of that I'm sure. But perhaps the more calmer version would do better, don't know for sure.

And of course with Tyson's explosive power, he too could knock out Lewis.

One thing I'm pretty confident in saying is that the longer the fight goes, the more if favours Lewis.

Tyson KO 4 sounds about right. Tyson would have the speed and technique to
get around Lewis's jab and land to the body and the head. Lewis would be hesitant to
be agressive in the early rounds, mike destroys him with a hook to the body uppercut
combo, then finishes a staggering Lewis with a left hook and right hand

 

Im not so sure mate. Prime Tyson could be frustrsted and subdued by negative tactics ala Tucker and Smith. One thing that Lewis was good at, under stewart anyway, was sticking to a gameplan. If Lewis were to mix it early then id have to favour Tyson, anything else,and the longer the fight goes, i have to side with lewis

If Lewis pulls the stuff he did against Michael Grant, pushing down on the back of his neck, leaning on his back and throwing the uppercuts underneath kinda like George Foreman, he could have Tyson out early. It all depends on how early Tyson tries to get to Lewis' body and his head movement. I'd bet on Tyson dropping Lewis with a body shot if Lewis did any of the leaning and hitting underneath. Tyson would be in range for his uppercut to the body or chest.

 

Prime or not prime, the fight always goes the same. Tyson was lacking the necessary ring intelligence to deal with a guy like Lewis. Tyson would get hugged for two rounds and then picked off with big shots from the outside.

Prime just like shot Tyson has absolutely nothing to offer to nullify Lewis' hug & tire strategy.

 

Tyson was in posistion to be the GOAT but his lust for fame fortune and taking advantage of women is his downfall. The dude is totally off his rocker, I mean the guy is literally nuts as you all know. Pre Don King Tyson easily beats Lewis without a doubt, post Don, no ****ing way.

 

Good point , but a prime Tyson was a bit more primal and would create openings which would win him the fight. I think uppercuts right down the pipe of the chin of Lewis does the trick.

 

I'm not even sure how effective Tyson's uppercut would be against Lewis considering how high above his shoulder it would have to go to land. Based on what I saw when they fought I'm pretty sure Lewis would have a more effective uppercut than Lewis. It was hooks that Tyson was landing, and he even hurt Lewis in the later stages of the fight, and Lewis was developing a mouse under his left eye. But I don't see Tyson winning the battle of the uppercuts.

 

Best for best I'd probably edge towards Lewis. Anything could happen.

Lennox is a fraud who fought names who were either fatter than ever before (Tyson, Tua), old and shot (Holyfield, Tyson, Mercer) or drug users (Tucker, McCall).

Lennox actually lost the fight with a shot Ray Mercer, and lost the rematch with a shot Holyfield. Not to mention getting knocked out by McCall and Rahman.
