Do you know the feeling? You watch a fight and a brave guy gets totally KTFO and you cant get over it? I like guys like Jermain Taylor. He is humble, a family man and has a great personality. To see him get KTFO against Pavlik, Abraham and Froch was just heartbraking. Its allright if a cocky ***** gets an ass-whooping (Hamed, Hopkins, Darchinyan, Haye etc) but if you have a guy with a heartbraking story taking punishment is just so hard to watch. I know its Boxing and nobody forced them to go into it and i love the sport. Just to name a few other guys: Joel Julio after Kirkland, Antillon after Rios, Frazier after Ali, Rahman after Lewis, Hearns after Hagler, Arreola after Klitschko, Ali after Holmes, Morales after Pacquaio......
morales vs pac, the look in his eyes on the canvas was very sad. Also montiel vs donaire, tyson in his last few fights was sad, duran after joppy.
Anyone remember NickCharles after Adamek KOed Jonathan Banks. "Aw, look at poor Banks there on the ropes..."
Herol Graham against Julian Jackson. Graham was outboxing him beautifully then suddenly wham he was out cold before he hit the deck very sad as Graham IMO is the best British fighter not to have won the world title.
Herol Graham against Julian "the Hawk" Jackson (least fitting nickname ever!) Beauty of a KO, but I did feel sorry for the guy. Don't agree with that one. Ali was being a ***** up 'till the fight and had been belittling Holmes in his previous fight. He deserved a beating, but I agree he took too much punishment and it should have been stopped earlier.
Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah Zab took a beating in that even went to his kness in one of the rounds. Judah dosent have loads of heart but in t hat fight he sure had a lot
Every time RJJ gets KTFO it's really sad. He should have just retired after Ruiz. Same thing with Tyson. He was a shadow of the fighter he was in the late 80s, and watching him get KO'd was tragic. I was watching a Jack Johnson documentary once, and the look in his eyes when Willard KO'd him was really sad too.
Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez.. Had outfought and outboxed a prime Chavez for 35mins and 58 seconds. He deserved the W
Hatton - Pacquaio : Look at what Hatton's gone through since. De La Hoya sitting in his corner after the Pacquaio fight, you could tell it was over, he looked so sad. Cotto - Margarito : Cotto went from P4P superstar to cowering in the corner, he's never been the same and the handwrap controversy makes you wonder.
