I actually wouldn't mind seeing Fury vs Audley, viewing figures would be massive for it! I wouldn't like Audley to win but it's certainly a match up i'd watch.

Part of me dislikes Audley, because he played me for a fool and a sucker. I was brought up believing Western (American) Gold Medalists were guaranteed to be world class at pro at the very least, I had no reason not to figure the same for Audley. What's more, Audley was talking right, being British Champ inside six fights etc, and we were going to see this for nothing, because the Beeb signed him up. And although the contract seemed a tad expensive at the time, an alleged £1Million was a small price to pay to watch the heir apparent to Lennox begin his career... :-(
Audley fooled you? WTF? He was fighting in a boxing ring trying to win fights. Ok then I hate Bernard Hopkins now because he said he would beat Chad Dawson and he never. It's madness mate, sorry, I think you're a really good poster but you're kind of blowing my mind here. Boxing politics is boxing politics, his contract, the advertising, it's all whatever to me, Audley Harrisson was just an average fighter having a go in the ring and fighting. But that is why I am not mentioning the Haye fight. Once you fight a world class fighter, you can talk the talk, but it still may explode in your face. I accept that, that is boxing to me, and I rarely make a judgement on the purchase of the fight because of that. I brought Harrison/Haye, I was pretty sure Haye was going to win comfortable, and I was right. I was happy, I brought the fight because it was an event, and I had no issue with it, to me, it did what it said on the tin. And looking in back, I was one of those pointing out the ridiculousness of the BBB of C withholding Audley's purse. What annoyed me, was Audley was making promises from day one, when he had no professional reputation. Sure I should of known better (And that in part is my issue with him), but come on, an Olympic Champion who's best win five years later is against a 23-16 Journeyman who had lost his last six fights... There comes a point where you just shut up...
I've got no problem with ANY fighter claiming they're going to win and beat everyone on the planet, it would be a shitty day when every fighter was really respectful of all their potential opponents and were brutally honest about themselves npt being that good. You have to convince yourself you're the best otherwise don't bother fighting imo. If you have an issue with him running his mouth and claiming he is going to be a champion then more power to you. Call me crazy but I'd do that too, and I'd be a much shitter boxer than Audley Harrisson ever was. My only issue with him talking himself up as a contender is that he could get himself hurt so I want him to stfu and retire, I don't want to see any fighters regret fighting there are some exceptions to that last bit thpugh I'll admit, but I'll refrain from saying **** in bad taste

I agree with your point about Audley needing to call it a day. For whatever reason, he made a name for himself, he has got on a show that pulls in good ratings, and although probably quite physically taxing, at least in Dancing, your partner does not hit you back! My Mum loves the show, to the point I had the misfortune of seeing one Joe Calzaghe on it, and boy did he suck! I am guessing Audley is charming the blue rinse brigade with a bit more style?

I'm not too sure I want to see him in a ring again. He's so painfully ****ing boring to watch. He's been out of the ring for some time and is no spring chicken. For shits and giggles stick him in with Kimbo. I'd actually watch that.
Audley is pretty resilient. He keeps getting knocked down and gets up again. He's like the black night in Monty Python Holy Grail. Vs Fury is a good match up IMO
