FLOYD: “I give the fans everything I have with the best competition and exciting fights. I must be doing something right as they keep buying my fights and I appreciate their tremendous support. It feels good to be able to generate such a great interest in the sport.”

His fights generate more money than any other active fighter out there, so he is doing something right.

Floyd is very good in brainwashing / fooling the fans.

How many were fooled to buy the Floyd-JMM mismatch fight?

I think Floyd would be a lot more exciting if he didn't consistently use illegal tactics (elbows, forearms, holding and hitting, etc). I never understood why he uses illegal tactics cuz he's sure damn good enough to not need them.

The joke is really on you. Promoters/fighters will do and say almost anything to gain public interest. There is that cliche: A closed mouth does not get fed. If the quote you presented was made by someone, say, an unproven fighter like Mike Jones then it'd warrant outrage and laughter. Floyd is a genius in a sense that he can be a "boring" fighter yet still bring in a ton of revenue. Who else is accomplishing such thing? Bernard Hopkins? James Toney? Ricardo Mayorga? Lol. These guys talk a lot of **** and get paid like **** in comparison to FMJ.

As for Floyd's fighting style, I'm going to be the first to give him credit for not running as often as he used to. Against Mosley and Ortiz, respectively, he actually walked them down. If he's not looking for the KO he throws enough shots to win rounds, as opposed to shelling up like Clottey. He's obviously not as dynamic as Pacquiao but not cringeworthy either.

I think its a Marmite situation that he capitalises on. The guys skill is so good (he's that he made me a Boxing Fan performance against Gatti), yet his attitude towards stretching himself and returning the loyalty shown by fans of the sport stinks.

People want to see him execute skills. And people want to see him get beat. He's bound to be quids in.

He has started to give exciting fights, although there have been stinkers. He's unbeaten and he sure as hell knows how to promote himself.

He is afraid of Brain Damage. If he fights exciting by taking more risks, he will get hit a lot more like in his first pro years.
