Martinez should never fight at 160 in the first place and just went up because he got the offer from Pavlik. Martinez looked like a midget in the fight but amazingly pulled it off anyway.

But going up further is even crazier. He is a natural 153 or so.

i don't think anyone would argue that martinez didnt exactly fight the best pavlik we've ever seen. nonetheless that doesnt mean he wouldnt have won the fight anyway. martinez is a helluva talent. no doubt about that.

he did come in pretty heavy at the 30 day weigh in against williams as well...second fight if i recall correctly. he was in the mid 170s at one point.

These threads are stupid. There is two weight divisions between them.

Sergio doesn't want to move up in weight. He just wanna be # 1 fighter in the world by beating Pacquiao or Mayweather. That's the truth!

Ward is to big and to strong for Martinez. On two occasions in clinch type situations Pavlik easily tossed Martinez to the canvass. A guy who has spent his whole career at 168, and likes to rough house, would just be way to much physically for Martinez to cope with.
