Depends on how you look at it...

For me as Ezekiel rightly points out we need them to do these type of things. My only issue with promoters is when they stop the big fights happening or meaningful fights.

I think we have some really good promoters up and coming in this country and it's really refreshing.

    -Goodwin Promotions
    -VIP Promotions
-Dave Coldwell's as well (not sure what name is, but bloody good show coming up)
    -Hard Knocks

and even the big name's are putting meaningful fights on..

think Promoters can have to much control over a fighters career.

i dont really like how the manager and promoter is the same person now in most cases.

the promoters should stick to trying to put on the best show possible for their budget

i will change my avatar ..... if I brake some rules ... no problem :) ... but i still like it .

What I mean to say is that boxing promoters try to do more a business from boxing and stop the real fights to happen. ( I won't say that money aren't important ), but why boxing popularity has dropped ??!! And why only some boxers are highly promoted and the rest of them are uninteresting (although they are good boxers ) ? Pacquiao and Mayweather won't last forever ! ....... I agree that a fight has to be promoted , etc, no doubt .... but is too much bussines in boxing and **** ..... this is my thought.

thing is its hard being a promoter without tv.In most times your realying on ticket sales from your fighters to make the figth happen and pay them. When it comes to the fighters progress its in the pro motors interest for there fighter to develop isint it ,so its not always a case that .

then you have to cover other costs like hall hire/cornerman/Secuirty /Medical staff etc

It's difficult to know what the alternative is. It would be good if there are tournaments like say in tennis that boxers could qualify to enter, similar to the amateur scene. But financially could these be feasible, how would the ranking and seeding be worked out?
I think we're stuck with the current system unfortunately.

tournaments would be great .... i would love to see some "Super 6 - 10"
tournaments at every division .... it would give us the opportunity to see
great fights .... and to see which is the real best fighter at each
division ! ...... the Super six tournament is a good exemple !
