It was an outstanding effort by Hussein but what do you mean he should have won? Do you mean the KD should have been a KO?

Skinny sure should have won that fight vs Pacman.

Skinny froze on the bigstage in Vegas vs Oscar Larios & was competitive against Scott Harrison in Scotland.

Skinny seemed to always fall short in the big matches & the reason for his last 2 losses in Japan (especially the last 1), Skinny was taking fights simply for the wrong reasons/money & not training as hard because IMO his heart wasnt it in anymore.

Wicked body puncher Skinny was also...1 of the better ones i have seen in Australia.

There was controversy over the count when Manny Pacquiao was down against Skinny Hussein. From memory Hussein's camp claimed the referee stalled the count and if he'd started when he should have might have reached 10.

The officiating was ordinary in favour of Pacquiao to say the least.

Not sure if I've ever seen it. Only heard about it. Will do a hunt on youtube for it.

Found it and very interesting to watch. The short left Skinny Hussein catches Manny Pacquiao with is a ripper. But the referee gives Pacquiao every chance to recover by standing between them. Late in the round Skinny has Manny in the corner and for no obvious reason the referee breaks them >

    No problems with that really.
Nedal ****ed himself by fouling his ass off the remainder of the fight.

    This.

The count was in no worse than many others - Manny simply took the full time that was availed to him. If the ref had counted quicker he would have been up quicker.

Skinny fought a tough fight but it was a dirty one and he was lucky not to be disqualified - I suggest this didn't happen because of the lack of appreciation a rabid Manilan crowd may have shown if the fight had been halted due to DQ.

Skinny was leading with his head a lot that's for sure. But he dominated that 4th round without being able to fully capitalize on it.

    Glad someone finally mentioned this!
People used to carry on as if Manny was absolutely out of it and would never have made a normal 10 count.
The way I see it is that he simply used the time available.

The biggest problem for both Hussein boys was the pathetic comp they were fed for years on the Fenech fight nights.
The worst possible prep for world title fights. If both had competed against real contenders, possibly sustained a few close losses and learned from the experience (Ie what Bomber did) things may well have been different.

Only issue is the VERY slow count, he got to 6 when Manny got to his feet. Problem is that 12 seconds had already passed, so manny would have got something like a 20 second count.

As for Skinny Hussein, well the truth is this....

He was a Fenech fighter with a padded record, he only won AUS Titles, WBF shitty title and just fought taxi drivers. When he got the fight with pacman they were so confident they thought it was a done deal, when the threads started to unravel from fighting subpart opponents most of his career he got dirty!

elbows, holding and hitting, headbutting on purpose and all round dirty dirty fighter. he is lucky he wasnt DQL. He just got a Knockdown and then gives pacman two elbows to the face. Why do that sht? desprate thats why, inexperianced and desprate. When you fight 30 bums it dont make you an experianced fighter, it just means you can bash up on bums and taxi drivers, sht hits the fan on the world stage when ur on a padded diet like the Husseins had been on.

It was Skinnys 1st loss, he is a bad sportman and dirty fighter, when things dont go his way he just does what most of the Billy Dibs do and that is fight dirty and do anything to win. If it was in AUS he would have got away with the majority of those fouls as Dib did when he won the IBF title. Lucky for pacman it wasnt and Hussein didnt have the Ref in his pocket.:good

Nedal 'Skinny' Hussein was a fine fighter, loved watching the big loping body shots and one of the nicest blokes I've met and have the pleasure calling a mate.

It's all probimatical now whether he came up short on world title occassions or whether the count was long against Pacquiao, but the fact is he had a great career and one he can be proud of.

He fought on some big shows and in some of the great venues around the world and name me one Australian who can lay claim to have fought, let alone dropped the future P4P No. 1 when they met?

In my opinion, Nedal's a great bloke and can most certainly hold his head up with pride regarding his career and achievements.

You wouldn't get two more contrasting views on the same bloke than those two. Got to say I favour the second one myself.
