I don't see Groves stopping Smith. This fight being in London away from the big hype it would have got from being in Liverpool will help Paul in my mind. He is a good boxer when he wants to be but as he said on Buncey's show, he just loses his head and gets in a brawl too often.

I can see him fighting a more disciplined fight in this one though and the fight being a closer than expected pts win for Groves. 7/4 is not bad, much better than the stoppage price but I think I'll leave this one alone

is smith going to outbox groves on the backfoot?

he will have to come forward and will be eating shots. groves will take over the fight and stop him late

    Probably next boxing bets I'll do are;

JMM to win on pts 10/1 :yikes
A draw in that fight at 33's
    Froch outright 5/2

Was going to put a bit on Margarito decision too but bias has got in the way cos I don't want anything to deflect from my support of Cotto in that one . The Marquez pts bet is ridiculously big odds, I can't see the fight being anything other than as close as the first 2 despite worries on Marquez's weight, he just has a style that Manny struggles with

yeah I'd say that doing that early on, maybe for the first half of the fight could be the right way for Smith to go. He's shown a tendency to struggle when coming forward so I don't see why he would want to do it again.

  5. Groves on points is the best value bet I feel.

DeGale stepped in to Smith because he knew that he could take Smith's shots..... Groves is probably a heavier puncher but is clearly the more vulnerable of the two and also punches less.

The stoppage was a bit questionable too.

The Dark Lord's typical gameplan these days is to box off the back foot, even against Anderson when Groves was slugging more he was prancing about the ring waving his arms around, chin in the air of course.

George might stop him, especially if he gets the bodyshots going but with Smith knowing it's his last chance and being pretty tough in his own right I see this as a distance fight, with Groves winning comfortably.

Yes I agree, I think that fight really was a wake up call for Groves. It was such a sloppy performance that I think he realised that it may be very well wading in vs no hopers like Adamu but vs good, solid boxers he will be in trouble.

Saying that I don't think either man will want to commit too much really so I can see it being a more techincal long range battle which Smith should favour but which ultimately, Groves is a bit better equipped to win. As you say the only way I can see a stoppage is by body shots frankly and if Groves did manage to do so, I would be highly impressed

What do you guys think about the BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE market. For Doubles you can get well over evens and its not that hard too pick 2 matches

Always a decent enough bet. Seem to get more luck with that than just straight accumulators, especially in the premier league this season

I won a good few quid on Peterborough BTS last season but haven't bothered with anything like that this season. It's good for accumulators because it runs for 90 minutes no matter what.

I'll have a bit of stoke tonight at more than double the money. Slightly worring that they have a few games coming up but they're pretty solid at home and Newcastle's run has to come to an end.
