Could Boxnation make Sky pull their fingers out?

    Just seen the sky schedule for the next couple of months and it looks fairly good. If they pick up the Khan fight then it will look exceptional. Do you think that losing ******'s fighters to boxnation could actually make sky pick up other foreign fights like the Kirkland fight so they are trying to compete with boxnation? If they try and compete it could be brilliant for boxing.

    Yeah, nothing's better for boxing than splitting content across two subscription-only services.

    looks a decent sky schedule if they add a couple more to that then it will look very good

    What the difference between paying sky sports package and loads of PPV's on top or Sky show some boxing and an other subscription channel shows boxing?

    I'm not really sure what you're asking, but I'll give it a go...

    Sky Sports, full package, shows maybe three fights a month and sporadic international bouts with no real commitment = £70 a month = £840 a year
    Primetime poach strategic fights at £14.95 a pop maybe four-five times a year = £75

    £900 fa year. So like £5 an hour to watch boxing, generally domestic level.

    Compared to everything going to BoxNation, £10 a month - £120 a year with a LOT more boxing = better value and a MASSIVE difference.

    **** Sky. They're ****, they've always been **** and they've never made any effort to develop the sport.

    Fwank, Hattons, Hearn all of them would love to be on BBC1 or ITV. There not interested. When they are all on sky theres not enough dates. They have to do something.

    If the only reason you would get Sky is for boxing, and the rest of the time you would just watch freeview channels fair enough, but 90% of the forum enjoy other sports and watch other things on Sky.

    Sky and Sky sports is excellent value for money in my opinion.

    The OP suggested that this is good for boxing. I am simply saying it isn't.

    You made up another number, yes?

    My point is pretty simple - IF you only watch Sky for boxing, it is NOT good value. If you split it across another set of channels including Sky, it is BAD for boxing.

    The sports chanels dont cost £70 a month m8 and they show loads of other sports.

    My point is, providing SKY dont also do PPV's then its actually better for less money, the PPV's for SKY fights was starting to take the **** with every other week a PPV and at 15quid a pop was outragous.

    Now if it normal sky sports packacge and a tenner a month for boxnation thats pretty good and if it makes sky attract more fights that arent PPV all the better.

    primetine and premier can do one!
