Was going to post this, but I'm trying to lessen my supposedly ''obscure''(which they aren't) thread output.

Good fights, Caballero-Hosono really could go either way in terms of entertainment, depends what Pelenchin decides to do in the end.

Who's really going to be watching boxing on that night? Seems bizarre. Still, quality match ups right there.

About time Uchiyama got back in the ring, been almost a year. Cant be good for a boxer of his age.

Might have an audience in Japan (where I think they have boxing shows in the afternoon).

It's like we have football on Boxing Day/New Years Eve.

Showtime have a New Years Eve card as well - Erdei/Cloud.

Over at the scene Uchiyama said he's had a had injury but it's all healed up now. He's still very fresh for his age, hopefully we can see him box 3 or 4 times a year now.

Never seen Hosono but hope he beats Cabs. One of the most overrated fighters of recent times imo. Not a bad fighter but quite how knocking Steve Molitor out warrants the praise he received at the time I'm not sure. And Mathebula beat him too.

Hasegawa returning in December is great news, as well.

Yeah hopefully, im still not too impressed with his opponents though. I know Japanese fighters rarely fight abroad, and they cant fight for any belts other than the WBC and WBA but Uchiyama should fight someone like takahiro Ao. It would be big fight in Japan, and it would give him more crdibility in a division thats been known to be lacking in talent recently. I suppose Solis and Salgado are good opponents though, certainly better than what Burns had during his reign.

Indeed, not like a Jap' hero to return after one devastating loss, let alone two.

He still has something to offer. Just got caught twice against big punchers, and has stayed up/finished on his feet both times.

Nishioka @ 122 would be great, but he's taking on some undefeated Mexican feather

    Who would that be?

Must say I've never been much of a Hasegawa fan, prefer him to Nishioka though.

He remains one of my favourite fighters.
