Uchiyama/Solis Caballero/Hosono New years eve!

I read somewhere that uchiyama isn't very popular at all in Japan which rules him out of the big fights. Risk/reward ratio is too wide unfortunately

 

I don't know where you read that mate. He was a top amateur, so from the very beginning his fights have been screened on Japanese TV. And despite being launched into the world title spotlight suddenly, he has been getting 6,000+ attendance figures for his defences despite the less than stellar opposition he's been facing. Even a 6-minute exhibition with him and Rikiya Fukuhara packed out the Korakuen Hall! (this was after an entire card collapsed). Also, he does some commentary/analysis work on boxing broadcasts, so he is definitely in the public eye a lot.
