No problem at all, I am glad to see there are still boxing fans like you that will support a fighter when he is struggling. Its amazing how many turn their back on a fighter after a couple losses or kick him when he is down. Yeah it is a big step. Imo this means Pavlik is serious about a big comeback. He could have just been a good boxer in Youngstown. But he is not settling for just good which makes it an exciting time to be a Pavlik fan.
Yea would be good, but how many Right hands you think Rios can take even with the headgear on? lol!:bbb
Best of luck to Pavlik. I have my doubts, but taking the necessary steps that he should have taken years ago is a good sign. It'd be great for boxing if he found his old form.
I hope he ditches the alcohol for the legalized weed.. good move for Pavlik. Shows initiative and a willingness to change. hopefully he dropped that YMCA trainer already.
His old form was developed in Youngstown. If he has lost his confidence in his ability to control his life I'm afraid moving to California isn't the answer. If you can't put the distractions behind you then that probably means the focus is lost.
I know sometimes it's hard, but that answer did not deserve a response Mc you know. Anyways,,,Pav will do good things again in the sport if he is focused and willing to sacrifice everything. It looks like Pavlik is ready to do this and i'm behind him all the way. Wish him the best.Look forward to seeing a focused Kelly Pavlik of the past in the ring again.:bbb
Hope this move puts him on the straight & narrow. I was one of his biggest fans, was there is AC when he KO'ed Taylor & would love nothing more than to see him crush his weaknesses so he can get back on top. If Top Rank didn't think he could do it, I don't think they would have invested one minute or one dime in his behalf. If he doesn't take advantage of this last chance deal, it will be over for him. Stay focused Kelly & forget about Youngstown for awhile... ((((((((((((GO PAVLIK))))))))))))))
Newsflash: Drunken hick moves to drunken hick town to get more drunk than in current hick town. Wake me up when theres some real news...
developed and corrupted in Youngstown. Same reason Cotto decided to gtfo of Puerto Rico to train, to avoid the distractions, Pavlik is getting out. Smart move. Family and old friends, great as they are, can often be the absolutely worst thing for a boxer in training.
First time I saw Pavlik was the McKart fight. It just so happens that Bronco is an old favorite of mine. I tuned in to see my fighter put a whoopin' on some skinny midwestern kid! Well -- we know how that worked out. I was very impressed with Pavlik in that fight, and started telling people, "This is the next middleweight champ." Afterward I watched every Pavlik fight I could find. I was very familiar with Zuniga, and the way KP dominated Zuniga surprised me. The majority of posters on ESB never saw Pavlik until either the Miranda fight, or the first Taylor fight. That's part of the reason they say the bizarre **** they say. The truth is that 2005 -- through spring 2008 Pavlik could pretty much do it all. Fight inside, fight outside, throw accurate shots from most any angle, et, et, et. My point is that when Pavlik was at his best his trainer was Jack Leow, he lived and trained in Youngstown, and he deserved the #7 P4P ranking Ring Magazine gave him. Zuniga, Miranda, and Taylor all left the freaking division because of Kelly. McKart NEVER looked old and shot until after he fought KP. Zertuche wasn't much, but he had a granite chin until Pavlik ruined it. Ross Thompson gave Kelly a decent scrap, but afterward he retired and never fought again. Pavlik stopped at least seven guys who had never been stopped before. Kelly Pavlik at his best was a ****ing beast, and one of the most TV friendly fighters I've seen since Little Red retired. I have no idea why so many fans give a ****ing criminal like Kirkland a free pass, but constantly hate on KP. (Personally I believe skin color is the #1 factor.) I'm skeptical as hell about a comeback, but I'm 100% behind him. If he needs to make all these changes to get his mojo back, so be it. However, I think he needs to keep Jack Leow on his team.
Look where im from bro! Same Area as Kelly! He represents where im from and put the RUSTBELT back on the map agaiN! As a kid i grew up watching Tyson on the "Black Box" and when he retired I kinda didnt care anymore. then around 2003 i started following kelly, he brought me back to boxing! Now i am a complete fan of boxing and will order certain PPV's Who wouldnt like to see a fighter who Comes forward and throws bombs?
