Japanese celebrate New Year's Eve in style: Uchiyama-Solis, Caballero-Hosono!

    Boxing fans are in for a special treat on New Year's Eve. Not only we get, if paperwork done, Cloud-Erdei and Rigondeaux-Ramos on Showtime, but the Japanese put together a special double-header themselves.

    Celestino Caballero will take on skilled brawler Satoshi Hosono who after an unsuccessful (but darn good) title try at 122 gets his shot at a 126lbs belt. Caballero just put on a very solid performance vs. Jonathan Barros and if to make some noise, he must win this, preferably in a brawl.

    Takashi Uchiyama is also in big one, puts his WBA SFW on the line vs. interim champ Jorge Solis, only beaten by Pacquiao at this weigth. The card will be held in Yokohama.

    How on Earth I ended up opening this in the British is beyond me. Anyways, let's see if any of you Brits get excited about this.

    I don't like New years either, other than there tends to be lots of Loose Women about.

    I always give New Years Eve and the last Friday before Xmas when the offices have their drinks a miss. Too many idiots who can't handle their drink, "amateur night".

    i see your point pal, i'm not a big fan of new years eve, never lives up to the hype, may babysit for my mate and let him and his miss's go out, plus going to lakeside the week after aswell.

    All hyped up events are **** in my experience apart from a hand ful. New years eve is the worst of them the only time ive enjoyed it has been when me and couple mates just stayed in and got lashed and one time in leeds.

    Every event where you are meant to be suddenly enjoying yourself because its a certain time/day has never made sense to me. ITs the same with my birthday i really couldnt give a ****.

    Jools has gone right down hill in recent years.

    In all fairness I'v had some mental New Years thinking about it, trouble finding a babysitter - who the heck wants to baysit on New Years? No one, that's who. (except for LP)
