Floyd easily has the more difficult style for emmanuel.

Morales whooped emmanuel's AZZ via jabs, right hands, and rights to the body.

Floyd has a much longer and sharper jab, way better right hand, and can actually plant str8 rights into the body compared to Juan.

There's the other points about higher ring iq, better defense, greater athleticism, etc.

Reason emmanuel was so weary and nervous against Shane is because Shane had comparable hand speed. emmanuel admits in his book that speed scares him. Floyd definitely has more speed than Juan and is in the same league as emmanuel when it comes to speed, maybe even faster.

Your poll is biased, maybe that's why there's little response? It's missing the fourth option: Floyd style is more difficult for emmanuel.

Marquez displaces the movements of Pacquiao's punches and uses far more lateral movements in order to change the angle to his liking. The way his defensive footwork sets up his offense is much more constructive to countering Pacquiao, I suspect, than it will be for Floyd, who has habitually fought in straight lines and may get tricked into anchoring himself on the back foot before he can respond to a change of the offensive angle by Pacquiao.

Both are troubling for Pac, but I wouldn't say they have the *same* style. Two different poisons.

I'm assuming Pac is carrying the weight better than Marquez so the third fight will come a little easier than the first two for Pac.

But I base that assumption on the Marquez-Floyd fight and since we haven't seen Pac in the ring with Floyd, it's certainly not a given. Still, just at a glance, Marquez didn't seem in the fight with Floyd at all, whereas you have to think Manny would at least win a few exchanges with Floyd based on his other peformances at that weight.

But slinging it out the way Manny has done when he has been at his *best* plays right into the counter puncher's strategy and Marquez was certainly capable of beating Pac at the lower weights. With Pac presumably more athletic at this stage compared to Marquez, Pac should get a convincing win over a guy who may still make him look awkward enough to doubt Pac's chances against Floyd, seeing as how Floyd crushed the same dude.

But how do you define what type of fighter Floyd is? Have we ever seen anyone with such defensive skills? I mean, he can counter like a cat, but he's not really a counter puncher. Whereas Marquez is okay with taking a few shots to set up the big counter, Floyd doesn't seem to need that strategy. He can land simply because the other guy is going to throw a shot. It's as if he knows what punch is coming the instant the other guy starts to throw. So he's not that strategic counter puncher... he just moves and smacks you the second you try to hit him... more about reflex I guess. But he's careful enough that I don't think what happened to Roy Jones will happen to him... at least not so suddenly.

So Pac is tailor made for Marquez, if we look at styles/tendencies alone. However, Pac has transcended his natural style and become something more... capable of outperforming his own style and beating a guy who was supposed to have his number.

But nobody has Floyd's number. There's no way to beat him on paper. He can't be hit, he can hit you before you even realize your punch missed.

Pac will only have a puncher's chance against Floyd... and we really don't know what Floyd's chin can take. So he may not even have that.

I'm pulling for him though. Pac's proven us wrong many times already.

That's an excellent comparison. And a very interesting scenario. Floyd is able to use his foot speed to force the straight line exchanges mostly but Pac's speed and angles will present an interesting challenge.

I just want to see what that chin can take. Just take a beating Floyd, and I won't mind if you win or lose! I just wanna see that chin!

his chin has already held up against bigger punchers than emmanuel like Oscar, Shane, and Ortiz

Floyd showed a strong chin to take those two shots from powerhouse Shane, no doubt.

But most fighters get hit solidly more than two times in one fight throughout their whole career.

I'm not saying Floyd has a suspect chin or anything. Clearly it's strong enough. But does he have one of the greatest chins ever? Such an attribute, should it manifest itself, would make him the greatest ever in my book. It's all he lacks, theoretically, to surpass Sugar Ray Robinson in my eyes. But he may already have it. I want to know.

No doubt he's tough, but is his toughness as legendary as his other attributes? I just want to know.

I see where you're coming from

what I think though is since Floyd is that good his chin won't ever have to take no sustained AZZault

he does have a titanium body though. Ortiz landed some mean body shots

You're probably right. Only one fighter who MIGHT be able to sustain it and seriously, he is tailor made for Floyd.

The poll is not complete, missing a JMM is a more dificult fight for Pac.

PS: Both are stylistic nightmares for Paquao, one due to great lateral movement, fearless nature and excelent timing, and the other due to great speed, reflexes and superior boxing skill/defence.

Floyd is a much tougher fight tho, due to the size difference and more importantly, rich advantage.

Prime for prime Marquez has the harder style , bc he's got the skills and the intangibles to trouble pacquiao. Floyd has the skills but not the intangibles.
