Hope this sets him on the right path! We'll see if it was the surroundings, or his personal will to stay focused and on track.
Yeah I remember, I saw a video with Martinez laughing at the idea of fightig Pavlik at 164. Meanwhile Pavlik had to dehydrate 20 pounds was weight drained and was in rehab during training camp and still fought Martinez. Martinez knew a healthy Pavlik would spell trouble for him. It would have been a big fight why did he not take it? Turns out Pavlik might not have shown up healthy for the rematch either since he checked into rehab again but still Martinez wanted no part of a non weight drained Pavlik.
Yes. November 19th in Campbell, Ohio at St. Lucy's again. Jake is fighting for the UBO lightweight title. Koval, Moore, Richardson, Salinas, and Roberto Acevedo from Puerto Rico is on the card. Roberto was 50-1 as an amateur. He is making his US debut on our card.
More than the size factor is Marg's style. the only person Marg could help prepare for is Andrade. Sparring him just to spar okay but using him to prepare for Froch, Ward or any top SHW's would be useless. Hope he gets back to top form. He could definitely be a factor and make for some exciting fights. 100% Kelly vs Froch is something i'd love to see.
Will do. There should be quite a few guys in attendance... Boom Boom, Darnell Boone, Shawn Porter, etc.
I always enjoy watching Boom Boom work the crowd. Kelly could take some lessons from him. Maybe it's just the time and distance, but watching Boom Boom, Roy Jones Jr and Freddie Roach work the crowds when they are in Youngstown is a thing of beauty.
That's good, he seemed like he was delusional about his fame because he was living in Youngstown for too long, and obviously had problems dealing with fame/success.
