And whats the betting that if he gets through this he will fight Degale and this will be the ....ahem....World title shot before the Olympics.

I can't really begrudge MAgee too much because he has had a hard career and has always been game, but this is far from a world title fight!!!

Depends what your definition of ''respectable'' is. He is sort of fighting at ''world'' level after all.

Magee has lost to Bute, Froch and Reid. He has lost every time that he's stepped-up in class. There's no shame in losing to future or current world champions but he is firmly a European level operator, and shouldn't be holding a 'world' title. He may well beat this Danish chap and defend his 'title' but he'll surely lose to the WBA (regular? super?) champion if and when they fight...

    Lol,

Slap I like you but really?

    Dejan Ribac

    19-1 (At the time)

2 of his fights were against fighters with winning records

1 was 12-10-5 and the other he lost (thiery KArl).

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Christopher Karagoz (18-15-4 at the time)

    Hardly a great record.

Only 4 wins aginst fighters with v small winning records and one of those was a DQ.

He can be forgiven this one as it was the first fight back after a loss
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Michael Recloux (19-11-2 at the time)

This is his most recent win, again hardly a world class record.

2 wins against fighters with winning records.

    One was 6-5-0

    The other was 6-5-2

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

So to sum up this guy should be no-where near any sort of title at the moment and I am hard pushed to call him a repectable opponent for magee!!!

This is the third WBA belt at super middle isn't it? I like Magee but that belt means as much as one of them intercontinental baubles. I mean, he beat a poor light middle to win it. Hope he makes the most of it and earns himself a nice few bob but it ain't a world title.

And your a disgustingly biased one :smoke

Karagoz 18-17 (11 losses by KO)

Dejan Ribac 19-1 at the time, been knocked out by an average frenchman and only beat 1 man with a winning record, the guy was 12-10

Michael Recloux 19-12 beat 3 people with winning records..and they were a guy who was 6-5-2 a 3-0 novice and a guy who is 6-5.

How can you call them respectable, what a joke. :patsch

Sounds about right to me. Listen, in this game full of snakes and rats and double-crossers, i wouldnt begrudge him making a few quid for the retirement plan. He always has been a have gloves will travel guy

Agreed. Unfortunately, Fwank will shove it down our throats as a world title shot. And that, it most certainly ain't.
