    I don't get how he's overrated? he's probably the GOAT@168lbs and he's a legit champion@175lbs.

People give him a lot of **** for his run at SMW and the same for Hopkins at MW but both men managed to be the most dominant fighters of their era in their respective divisions and both left a lasting legacy (both men = undisputed champions) then we jump to someone like Roy Jones for all his amazing talent and skill never beat a lineal champion his whole career, yet somehow he's top 30 ATG yet people don't want to concede Calzaghe is a legit ATG.

Calzaghe has the misfortune of an obsessive hardcore fanbase of idiots who make stupid statements that overrate him constantly which reflects poorly on him.

Also see: Manny Pacquiao, The Klitschkos, etc

Manny Pacquiao fans have every right to talk as much smack as they wish because Pacquiao is indeed special with insane achievements, fighting style and fight record.

The Klitschkos can also brag as much as they wish, both Klitschkos fight everyone the division has to offer and continue to do so. It's not their problem the division isn't impressive.

Joe Calzaghe fans have few to brag about and make a big deal out of it. All they can brag about is his fighting ability which is extremely impressive and special. But was it backed up with an impressive record?, the answer is easily no. Could he have made it better?, yes he could have, just like Mayweather could make his record better if he wants to but both choose/chose not to. Most of Joe Calzaghe fans seem to be internet comedians or trolls, you can't take a human being posting crap like "Roy Jones was in his prime when he fought Joe Calzaghe" seriously without instantly knowing they're clowning on purpose to make onliners laugh.

Yeah he's the most hated boxer on ESB.

Beat an undefeated Lacy, Kessler and then moved up to 175 and beat the best guy there.

He's obviously not top 20, but he's a great fighter.

Not really sure where stuff like that comes from. I am a fairly big fan of Calzaghe, felt he was an exciting match ups for most of his opponents, but have never read anyone saying Jones was in his prime when they fought.

really?? if he was fighting the best at the amateur or pro level, it would be impressive but he wasn't. andre ward has been undefeated for the past 15 yrs. he's an olympic gold medalist and will surpass what joe did at 168 with a win over froch imo. btw, here's one of joe's last losses:
