Here is a bit of a different question/scenario.

I currently have taken the skin off and broken my middlefinger and ring finger. It takes a lot ofwarming up and time just to clinch a fist and even then it is a dodgy fist, so throwing a non telegraapghed right hand is out.

Ordinarily, i would adopt a basic Rocky Marciano style stance but probably hit straighter with a left right, maybe even a converted southpaw right left stance. But my question is what sort of modifications should i make to my fighting style ( You know, if Mendoza and McVey fly to australia to start something, or if klompton and the US co launch a surprise attack and we get stuck with a one in all in situation :D)

    Assume physicality is pretty even.

I am looking at suggestions like should i lead with the left or through the left cross, or substitute a right elbow for a right cross, maybe a right palm heel. In other words, what tactics can our great strategists come up with in such a situation.

Why not just wait for it to recover and protect your hands? So I'm assuming the ring finger is the same as here, on the right?

I suppose it depends on your strengths and weaknesses and your current style, are you saying you fight out of . I'd be primarily a jabber who hooks off the jab behind a high guard focusing circling from your left to your right in and out to jab moving in and out. Inside I'd double and treble the hook, throwing right hooks/overhands to the body is usually less painful

You could switch to southpaw, it will take a long time getting the balance and punches right, but in time it will come, by the time that happens your hand should have long recovered

Legally you can't use elbows/forearms and if you do it exclusively you're begging for a DQ

Just making a topic a bit different to ordinary. i dont think it really maters what style you have, (are their really that many styles in a street fight anyway. Pretty much just line up, get your stance and hit hard and accurate with a 4 or 5 punch combo.

Assuming allll things are equal, would it be worthwhile switching to southpaw though. In otherwords is it advantageous to throw the straight left cross as opposed to the left jab. for the average person (against the average opponent) is it better to land the jab more regularly or throw the telegraphed cross more often?

I was thinking elbows and such forth in the street, because it is unlikely you would go into a fight with 2 fingers unusable like i described although now i think about it i suppose this might some how legitimately happen in a real boxing matcht.
