There is no state taxes in Texas.

So how is that not the case?

it is a good choice. but how it would sit well with arum is the main point. if you were in arum's position, given your background with floyd, how the hell will you feel about this? and how is coming out with this advantageous to getting the fight on lock come negotiations?

It's simple. First, it takes attention away from Pacquiao and pisses off Arum. Second, it gives Mayweather flexibility. When they first negotiated, Arum abrubtly ended negotiations and booked Pacquiao in another fight within a week. Imagine if that happens again, and Arum books a May 5th date for Pacquiao? That's a very desireable date for a ppv. So now if the fight with Pacquiao falls apart again, Floyd at least has that premium date. Conversely, Pac will need to fight Mayweather if he wants that date.

**** Arum, Pac is the one Mayweather is fighting. Does it annoy Pac? Does he care that its May 5th and MGM grand? Are the date and venue suitable for Pac personally.

If Pac has a problem with it for an understandable reason then ok, but if Arum has a problem with it even though Pac doesn't just because he is butt hurt about Mayweather making a move and the fight doesn't get made because of that then Arum is exposed.

There are no state taxes in Vegas either. Not only that, but the site fees and ticket prices are higher. Check out Pac's live gate figures against Margo and Clottey, and compare that with Mosley and Marquez.

if the intention is to secure the fight. this move does not help.

if the intention is to get back at arum, then floyd one ups him big time.

will this be helpful in getting the fight made? i think not.
