So good to see JAMES TONEY back at a good weight and back in a boxing ring!

Trying to box weighing 237-257lbs was a bad idea.

James Toney is so ridiculously tough, resilient and fearless (and lazy!) that he has been putting himself into highly undesirable situations over the last few years, because he knows he can't really get hurt.

But now, at last, he is back where his sublime skillset belongs, in a boxing ring. And he is back at a very good weight for himself, which is in between the weight he was for his last two great performances against Jirov (190) and Holyfield (217).

Weight loss worries be damned, age worries be damned, Toney is on another planet to Lebedev in terms of skills - and will, for the first time since the first Sam Peter fight in '06, look like himself in a boxing ring.

Toney wide UD... and then let the clamour begin for a fight with Bernard Hopkins, second choice Antonio Tarver.

    :happy

I'm going down to the bookies to put 50 on the win and 50 on the KO for King James, hopefully he isn't drained he doesnt look it, 8 months to lose 50 pounds for somebody that overweight isnt a lot, they do it on the biggest loser in months. Roy jones was pretty much ripped even at heavyweight!

I'm also glad to see Lights Out in action again.
    Think he schools Lebedev.
To be honest I believe James can beat anyone in CW right, so let's hope he stays there for some time, gives us some big fights and unifies this division.

Same way he'd been 'wrecking' RJJ? Burnt out Roy gave him waaay too much trouble until KO. A KO which happened in last round of their fight.

In this fight the technical skill of Toney will make the difference

    btw...nice avatar xD

People forget that Roy wasnt exactly punished before the KO, and I beleive Toney's still a marginally better fighter at this point.

I hope Toney gives Lebedev an Iran Barkley-style beatdown. The weight loss concerns me though. I keep thinking back to Chris Byrd when he went down to light heavyweight.

yes, that's exactly my point. during that fight I had the feeling that Roy schooled Lebedev from time to time

Does Toney need to watch what he says in Russia during the press conference?

I only ask because I remember years back Onyx (american hip hop group) going on tour in Russia. There were stories that they tried to act like tough guys to security or planning personnel in Russia.... and how quickly it turned serious when the Russians didn't take too kind to being muscled around.
