You were the one claiming in another post that ODLH had such big balls etc, yet when he faced the pressure of Trinidad's power he was intimidated and showed he was not a true mexican.

Man, it was 3-1 at best. I just watched the fight yesterday at my store, since I play a lot of boxing there. I had Oscar winning by 2 rounds at worst.
oh fuk. Oscar fought just as hard punchers as Tito. He had a game plan he stuck to and fought brilliantly until the final 3 rounds, but still managed to outland tito even in his so called marathon. If you need clarification, just watch his next fight vs. Mosley. Mosley is faster and more power than tito and Oscar let it all hang out that fight because he was being critized for boxing tito. If Oscar had of fought Tito the way he fought Mosley, Tito would have been KO'd. Much lesser punchers have put tito down. Oscar would have put him away.
Oscar did make it look easy. Come on. Tito couldn't do **** the first 8 rounds. He'd sit there, come forward, get stopped in his tracks with an Oscar combo, then come forward again barely punching to get hit with another combo. It wasn't a wide victory for Oscar, it was close because he coughed up the last 3 rounds. But he landed what. a hundred more punches? And Tito's shorts all blood, eye swollen just about shut, Oscar's face pretty much unscathed. Oscar fuked the fight he was dominating. Tito looked stuck in the mud until Oscar stopped jabbing and throwing combo's pretty much. But he still outlanded tito in the final rounds if memory serves.
this. oscar was faster, hit almost as hard and had a better chin than tito.can't see him losing that brawl
So Tito wasn't knocked down half a dozen times by lesser punches than oscar? Please. Tito had a shakey chin, but Oscar knew it was a safer bet to outbox him then commit and go for the KO. I remember tons of boxing experts saying Oscar laid out the blue print how to beat tito and Hopkins followed it but difference was he didn't lay off the last couple rounds.
I don't think so, the scorecards were already too close after nine rounds... and one of them gave the last round to De La Hoya.
Óscar De La Hoya vs Félix Trinidad* (Majority Decision) WBC IBF 1 10 9 2 10 9 3 10 9 4 9 10 5 10 9 6 10 9 7 10 9 8 10 9 9 10 9 10 9 10 11 9 10 12 9 10 116 112
I think that's a pretty fair statement. aggressive de la hoya would've hurt tito i think. he'd hit the deck against lesser punchers for sure.
I had Oscar 7-5, but there were some close rounds. A draw or a point win for Trinidad could have been reasonably jusified imho.
It's getting to the stage where I'm watching and trying to find a way to score it a loss for DLH.Objectivity is going out the window.I tried and tried to convince myself into a 6-6 but realistically,7-5 is the kindest I can be to Trinidad. At the end of the day no-one knows more than Oscar how much getting on his bike cost him that night, but you're doing OK if you can throw away three rounds and still have the vast majority convinced you did enough.
Always 9-3 to Oscar, I could sympathise with a 8-3-1 scorecard but no more. I thought it was a beautiful boxing performance by Oscar against a monster puncher at the top of his game. I feel a little sorry for Tito too, its the fight of his that is most talked about when he has had some absolutely brilliant performances and some barnstorming fights.
