I didnt say anything because im rarely on here as of lately, so i can't exactly weigh in on something on A) i didnt have any input on and B) didnt see the general consensus pre-fight. So no, i didnt see what all the "yankees" were talking about. all I know is james toney hasn't been relevant in years and his last outing was against a mediocre HW in sam peter and got outworked in damn near similar fashion. but my question to you is why do you get your rocks off on seeing old black men get beat? lol im beginning to suspect that "Punchingbag" symbolizes how you viewed yourself coming up in life huh? i'd bet you cream your pants if ali of today got mugged by some white guy so you can have an excuse to shout "WHITE POWER!!" lol, your inner-turmoil and insecurities are on full display now
Well, I didn't get to see the fight, but I had it totally wrong. I'm a Toney fan and I know he's declined markedly (I'm not an idiot!) but I really thought he had enough left speed/reflex-wise to get past Lebedev. I'll hold my hands-up and admit I completely failed to pick this fight, I even blew all my vcash at the vbookie on a Toney win. JT should hang 'em up now it really would be a shame for him to carry on any longer and I say that as A Fan... But props to the man for not quitting when in far too deep.
Toney should be thanking god that he never got that klitschko fight he so desperately wanted. he was embarresed by Lebedev, he wouldve been killed by Klitschko.
Sadly Jones v Toney II would seem to be a very real possibility now. They'll both fight til a stretcher and ambulance are required to remove them from the ring. Old age for these guys will be either very ugly or completely non-existent.
As crudy as this sounds, yes I root for Toney, Hopkins, & RJJ but if they keep fighting they're only asking for permanent damage so I don't feel too sorry for him. Toney is done and his inactivity in his later years did not help him but I give him credit for always coming to fight and being a joy to watch for purists like me even though he's been lazy most of his career. Things about Toney I'll always love are his toughness & brilliant infighting. This is a cycle people, as long as there's the desire to fight on in shot fighters they will continue to do so. I can't blame them for paying bills, feeding kids,etc. but they are well aware of the risks involved in boxing. Obvious risks.
Where is this :"white power " coming from?:huh why do you assume that this guy who's a Lebedev fan is a skinhead/racist?? he's just anti-american dosen't like american fighters... Maybe if Toney wasn't such a horrific trash talker, people wouldn't find joy in watching him get his ass beat... These old guy's in their 40's that keep fighting are dumb, they need to get regular jobs, so they don't become human punching bags just for a paycheck..
