what was with his balance and footwork (or lack of)?

in the first round,i thought toney looked up for it and seemed sharper than i thought he would.then he hurt his leg in round 2 and the rest is history, no movement whatsoever and his balance was laughable

was he really just that shot or did that injury affect his balance and movement?

personally i still think he simply wasn't quick enough to pull the trigger anymore but i doubt that leg injury helped

When you're obese for a large part of your life then your knees and joints usually suffer. Toney looked embarrassing and unprofessional stumbling around the ring like a drunken sailor starting from the second round on.

Did it affect his performance? Yea. But he'd still have lost. He has zero timing, he's slow as molasses and his entire hip movement is reduced to simply lowering his head.

It's disgusting to watch, makes you want to puke.

I think it did affect, but was it the only reason for lack of balance? Hard to say.

His legs mistakenly led him to that ring.

I'm hoping that they will now do the right thing and go and seek out some slippers to put on and raise themselves onto a small footstool.

Yeah it did, but he had **** balance anyways and would have gotten shut out regardless

  9. He stumbled more in 12 rounds than a drunk russian bum in a year. Lebedev made him look like a complete fool.

Toney would have lost the fight without the leg injury, but not like that.

In the first round he was actually a bit competitive and thew punches. He was capable of driving forward and wasn't entirely off balance. He was incapable of throwing a punch after the second round. Could not plant at all.

Again, he would have clearly lost, but it wouldn't have looked quite like that. I could be wrong, but I suspect he injured the leg before the fight, took a few days off, and then tweaked it again in the second round.

James would have lost to Damon Reed after that second round, the fight was entirely over and he had zero movement.

I don't think it was unlucky, he was more susceptible to getting hurt because of his lifestlye and being old and shot, but there was a very clear difference in him after he tweaked his leg. I wish Mcgirt would have stopped the fight then. Lebedev could have stood with his hands down and given toney twenty free shots and it wouldn't have made a difference.

I love James and I'm sure the leg did affect him.... But I think age and weight has caught up. I'm pretty down with my favorite fighter losing in this fashion.... I hope if he doesn't decide to hang them up that his performance was hindered because of the injury.

Lebedev took Toney out to a fancy restaurante, took a romantic horse carriage around town, stopped by to marvel at the Kremlin, and than never called him again.

it affected him but not in a way which would have changed the outcome. Respect for not quitting, but was embarrassing regardless.

he talked lot of **** and mostly backed it up... but now even od rjj looks better
