Watched the full fight yesterday for the first time in years. For anyone who hasen't seen it your missing out on a fantasic fight. Very tough to score. Seriously how many prospects (untested for the most part, as im sure was Kelley was at that point) could have withstood that 12 round barrage. Troy Dorsey punched, punched and punched a little more. His style was basically to punch as many times as possible in a 12 round contest. He holds the distinction of landing the most punches ever in a fight, over 600. Unfortunately this did not help him win the fight, as he still managed to lose to Jorge Paez since the judges were apparently not impressed by his pitty-patting.
It may have held the record until Padilla-Oliveira the next year. I did read that the amount of punches Dorsey threw in this fight was the highest number ever. Dorsey was also a highly accomplished Karate fighter and kickboxer. He had an amateur boxing record of 2 wins and 1 loss until turning pro. He only seriously took up boxing while already in his 20's.
Just watched the Padilla/Oliveira fight. Yep, there was a whole lot of slapping back and forth going on, but hardly any drama whatsoever. It was fun to watch so many punches being thrown, though.
Another underrated action fight is Roberto Elizondo Vs Cornelius Boza Edwards. Okay, Boza is well known for action fights but this one is one of his best IMO, and tends to get overlooked amongst Boza's fights with those guys.
