Yeah because Spinks teed off flush shots on Qawi like Johnson would be doing. Please. Johnson certainly would be more of a style problem for Qawi to handle. I certainly think Johnson hits harder then Spinks, at that weight at least. The higher the weight Spinks gets the advantage. And the light heavyweight holyfield? He was green. He dominated Qawi in rematch and stopped him in what, 4 rounds? Holy had vastly improved. The one example that would justify the myth that is Qawi's chin would be the Foreman fight, late in his career. Just because of the size disparity and because of Foreman's power. I have to give him credit for that. but once again, Foreman was still old as hell.
Yeah, but Light Heavyweight Holyfield? He fought Qawi twice at Cruiserweight. Johnson a harder hitter than Spinks at 175lbs? The list of B level fighters who went the distance with Johnson is endless. Johnson being more of a style problem for Qawi? Qawi is going to eat up most Light Heavyweights who stand in front of him, which is how Johnson fights.
He was still green the first time around. that was a very early fight for holy Spinks did not KO anyone notable besides Lopez* and Johnson. To be honest Spinks is way overrated to me. You're damn right. Johnson has the power to keep Qawi at bay, that's the difference. He would show him a few jabs and Qawi would probably become gunshy until Johnson is able to time him. :good This content is protected "]I do not give any credit to Spinks for that victory.[/COLOR]
Glen is highly underrated. Spinks overrated. Qawi probably slightly overrated based on this thread. I have yet to see sufficent evidence of Qawi's "chin" strictly at light heavyweight. Spinks does not count. :deal
If Qawi is moving up a division and taking the best from Holyfield and Foreman, doesn't that end all arguments? You're quick to point out that Evander was green but his punching power was never going to dramatically improve. He hit Qawi with everything...including the kitchen sink. When did Johnson prove himself to be a brutal puncher?
The funny thing is you disregarded my comment. where is the light heavyweight chin proof? There is none. only him taking shots at higher weights because his defensive skills and parrying worsened. His power certainly improved from his 12th pro fight! Often times in that fight he was punching strictly for speed. Everyone knows he had never went 15 rounds before. If he didn't improve at all, why did he knock out Qawi like that? He was more patient, countered, and picked his spots. Had he done that in the first fight he could have ended Qawi's career right then and there. Foreman? Qawi stood up to Foreman for a few rounds and even clowned him. And they were both old and fat at that point. That fight can also be disregarded since it WASN'T AT LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT.
Yeah, no doubt. He's usually not the trolling type, though, so it's bound to turn some heads when he actually does.
If Qawi took shots from guys as big as Holyfield and Foreman, what makes you think a Glen Johnson is going to knock him out? You're trolling. Who did Johnson stop to cause you to believe he hit harder than 175lbs Spinks? Tommy has been saying some silly stuff recently. He suggested that Daniel Zaragoza wasn't that far past his prime in '97. He also considers Ray Mancini vs Alexis Arguello to be a comeback KO. He scored nearly every round for Mancini.
