The wiki summary does not contradict what i have said, 'a knock down usually results in a score of eight', usually it does but it shouldnt always, as regards boxrec 'If there is no clear winner, each boxer must be awarded ten points', must be awarded 10-10 each.

What are you talking about, are you saying 9-9 is against the rules and we shouldnt have it , there is no difference between 9-9 and 10-10, some people refuse to score even rounds and that is the biggest reason why boxing has many unfair results, if a round is even it should be scored even.

Its nothing to do with the round being even or not. Without a points deduction for one (or both) of the fighters you shouldn't score a 9-9 round, at least 1 fighter HAS to score 10 points. "10 point must"Is that so hard to understand?

It shouldnt have to be 10 points must, if one boxer clearly won the round and suffered a flash knockdown, i would score it 9-9, if people wanted to score it 10-10, it would not make any difference.

What would you score it in that circumstance, seriously if boxer A clearly had the better of boxer B during the round but boxer A suffered a flash knockdown what would you score it 'GazOC' ?

I know what most judges would score it, would you score it the same as them and is that a fair and accurate reflection of the round ?

There are posters on this site with tens of thousands of posts who don't understand the 10 point must system. As for knockdown rounds, forget it. That gets them really confused.

I have a question - has anyone here scored boxing matches from ringside, then watched a recording and saw it differently?

GazOC becomes the second poster that has past comment on the above senario but refused to answer when asked how he would score it himself.

trampie is right that there is no practical difference between 9-9 and 10-10. Who gives a **** what you call it; it goes down as an even round. I scored some of those Rob Norton-Leon Williams rounds 0-0.

Yep, that's happened to me a couple of times. Being there and watching on TV can be a totally different experience when you're scoring a fight sometimes.

I was in the arena for Hopkins/Wright and saw a different fight when i got home and rewatched it. Being in the arena i gave Winky more credit then he deserved, it may have been because i was in the cheap seats and couldn't quite see the inside work of Hopkins.

    Oh and stop digging, Trampie.

It should never be 3 points for a win, 3 wins and 3 loses is never as good as 2 wins 3 draws and only 1 loss.
