Is Floyd booking the MGM just another method of ducking by dictating time and place?

There's nothing wrong with the MGM Grand. Or the date.

He never said Pac was going to be his next opponent on May 5 @ MGM. He said he wants to make the biggest fight possible...and he concedes that the "little fella" (Pac) is the biggest fight to be made. So, that is the fight he is seeking to make.

Choosing a date and venue he wants to fight at is not "ducking". If Arum can come up with a better date and venue, I assume it could be negotiated. Why would it be anywhere except Vegas though? Boxing's fight capital. In a party town like Vegas, the weekend of the fight would be huge. If a negotiation happens again, I think MGM on May 5 is a great starting point. And if negotiations fail, it is a great date and venue for Floyd and whomever the opponent.

And why was it not percieved as "ducking" when Arum booked a couple different venues and a Nov. 13 date for Manny last year, having not spoken to Floyd first? :think

I agree. The week of May 5th is a big week for boxing, traditionally, and the MGM grand is one of the premier venues in boxing.

This is a silly thing to bash Floyd on. Move along.

Arum had a damn countdown clock. All Floyd said was what day and where he was fighting

It'll be about the same. Just like all Pac and Floyd fights.

This isn't going to get magical #s if it ever happens. 1.5 mill maybe. Big but not as big as people think.

I doubt any PPV event ever breaks the 2 million mark.

The MGM wouldn't even be suitable for a Pacquiao fight. Even if they hike up the ticket prices, it's still far too small. They could sell out 50,000 tickets are a high price and make far more than they ever could at the MGM.

That arena is fine for Floyd's lesser fights. However, nobody in their right mind would have Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in such a small arena.

Floyd doesn't even know he was fighting Pacman this May 5.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Floyd: Hey yo! (Ellerbe) I want to keep my promise that I will stay active.

    Ellerbe: Ok

Floyd: Book May 5 on MGM. It will be Cinco de Mayo and will be a sure hit yo!

Ellerbe: I'll take care of it.

Ellerbe to some reporter: Blah blah that Pacquiao has no problem with the drug test and USADA.

Ellerbe: Floyd will fight the little guy on May 5 at MGM

Reporter to Floyd: You're going to fight Pacquiao on May 5 at MGM?

Floyd: Paquiao? I didn't even know I was fighting him.

Floyd to Ellerbe: Hey yo! What the **** is wrong with you man!

    :lol::lol::lol:

Did someone from team Floyd actually say they were fighting Pac in May? Or that Floyd had instructed them to look for the Pac fight?

    For clarification reasons.

No it is not....BUT THERE IS 0 REASON TO LIE...

THE EXCUSE "TAKING PACS SHINE BEFORE HIS FIGHT" IS PATHETIC..

BOTTOM LINE IS FLOYD GOT THE DATE...PAC JUST HAS TO AGREE TO THE TESTS THOUGH.

Ellerbe only mustered "the little guy."

As far as we know Floyd camp called Pacman "midget"

    Quit your pinehole.

Arum is only saying... What if Dallas offered $30M to host the fight?
