A lot of fighters have moved through weight divisions picking up 'versions' of the title, but doing so isn't that difficult for any decent fighter, as they can often fight the weakest belt holder and claim themselves to be a world champion.

So I started wondering which fighter has unified the most divisions, where they can truly say they were the champion of that weight class?

I dont think there are many. The first that jumps to my head is Holyfield but he got all his titles at heavyweight in one fight.

Whitaker? If we're dealing with the era of multiple belts.

EDIT: Thats a pretty bad answer, he only unified 135.

Felix Trinidad unified the welterweight division, unified jrmiddleweight against Vargas, but then fell short unifying the middleweight division against BHop. Not many fighters that move up in weight face multiple champions on the division, it's too risky. But those who do (or at least try) deserve respect.

De La Hoya unified two belts each at 135 and 154. Then of course lost against Bhop for all four belts at 160.

:deal Tito is a very good call.

Evander Holyfield unified the major 3 at CW and then the major 3 at HW. I don't think hes been beat by either Tito or Oscar though.

So Hoya and Trinidad are tied with 2 divisions each?

I can't think anyone would make it 3.

There are many who win individual or multiple titles in one go but few that unify.
