Yes it is. I scored Martinez-Williams I round 1 10-9 Martinez but 10-10 would also be a valid card if you preferred Williams' work (ignoring the fact that Martinez scored the heavier KD).
You make sure you score a round even if that is how you see it, the problems start in boxing when people dont score even rounds when they are even .
I don't like scoring even rounds but I'm not one of those who is totally against it. If I can find a winner I will, if I can't I have no problem scoring it even. I won't just pick a winner for the sake of it.
You are just hilarious. You seem to change position to argue something different every time your original position is no longer tenable. It's very simple though - you ONLY score 9-9 in the event of a point deduction. The winning fighter of a round can ONLY end up with 9 points if he has committed a foul.
I have never had a fighter winning a round scoring only 9 points, there is a first time for everything so they say.
Well, Trampie, it doesn't take much to figure this out: if the winning fighter scores a knockdown and gets a point deduction, he could win the round 9-8.
All good stuff, Gaz scores a theoretical round 10-10 with one boxer knocking down another boxer in the round, and you would score a 9-8 win to a boxer in a round when you put up a link which says that the judges must give the winner of a round 10 points, cool.
atsch The judges must give the winner 10 points - they can then deduct points for any fouls as instructed by the ref. Hence why dftaylor mentioned a point deduction, you monumental mong. Do you understand yet?
You boys are getting there, some of the myths of you cant score a round even, you cant score a 9-9, a boxer suffering a knockdown must lose the round 10-8, the winner of a round must score 10 points, you are debunking the myths after a little guidance from trampie. Well done boys , now just follow trampies guide and you may just maybe able to score a fight fairly, im not holding my breath though, some of you clearly need more work.
Wow I can't believe he still doesn't get it. The clue is in the title - ten point must. The winner of the round must get ten points unless they suffer a point deduction. Here are my scenario's. Round 1 of martinez v williams I gave 10-9 to martinez. That round in adamek v cunningham where adamek was getting tanned for 2 and half minutes before scoring a flash kd, I scored it 10-9 adamek. Basically if someone is putting on a beating worthy of a 10-8 (without a knockdown) as it stands and they then suffer a flash kd, they lose the round 10-9. I haven't scored an even round for about a year now (unless the winner gets a point deduction in which case it's 9-9) Scoring every close round even is how they used to do it back in the olden times; you'd often see even rounds. I personally think it's a failure on the part of the judges if they can't separate two fighters. A guy winning 7 close rounds and losing 5 clear rounds deserves to win the fight, no doubt.
Got to admit though if fighter A wins 6 close rounds ( Where there is no difference between the two fighters and could be called a 10-10 round ) But then fighter A clearly loses 6 rounds with no knockdowns then a draw does suck for fighter B ?
I think trampie did overlook the 10 point must system but that doesn't obscure his main point about even rounds, and, as I said before, there is no practical difference between 10-10 and 9-9 so the amount of flak you boys are giving trampie is wildly disproportionate. Still, trampie has generated a lot more heat then when I posted a similar topic and got 1 reply... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323020
It's more he said people can't score a fight and then demonstrated he doesn't actually know how to score a fight.
