I said after the jmm fight, kats will slide. He is a worn out slugger now.

He has no snap on his punches anymore and he throws a lot of rubbish. He is even cocking his left hand now, like that thing he does with his right hand.

He is just fighting on heart and conditioning now. Two years ago he'd walk through a guy like burns.

That said, i had kats winning a close fight. kats pushed the fight all the way. But full credit to burns for hanging tough after jumping in weight.

I think Kats would have blown Burns away a few years ago. But tonight Burns was comfortable the whole way through. Kats should retire. Burns contained him relatively easily, shame to see.

Shut out for Burns ,, That fight was won in the preperation and the corner , Burns prepared , with the best sparring Britain could provide, and a mision and plan in mind .

Mick prepared in Thailand sparring locals for a dollar a day , with the fight plan being get fit and put pressure on , and hopefully stop him .

Mick should either quit or go with a corner that knows what its doing

    Spot on there mate

Burns jabbed the **** out of Mick. He used his height/reach advantage well and when Mick did get in close and banged away Burns covered up well. I must say except for 2 fights that Undercard was ****ing painful to watch. We complain about Mundines **** Undercards but this was abysmal. 2 fighters had 7W 70+L records:-(. Really hope Mick can overcome this loss.

I'm sure Mick will fight on but not so sure it is in his best interests. He needs to make some adjustments if he does continue.

Agree but can he? I am hopeful but not overly optimistic.

Maybe...maybe a weight change could help.

But Mick actually looked like his ringcraft has regressed since a few years ago. Does happen sometimes, experience goes the other way and you develop bad habits.
He could continue to be an ESPN level fighter for a little longer at 140..if they match him against guys who suit him.

I'd rather see him retire sooner than later...just if there is a little more coin for him to earn I don't blame him for going on a little longer.

Kat's really needs to take a year off or possibly get a new trainer (there is no plan B when the head down arse up plan A fails ) great kid and a great fighter but his style is easy to predict these days and any fighter with a decent jab and that can fight at range will be his undoing .

PERFECT JET ? I agree with 98 % of your posts on this board brother but the one above falls within the 2 % i guess .

Well yeah its **** when ye have to pay ****ing crazy money in Australia to watch decent cards which at best was all this was but surely you must of known that before hand, so main event well and truly got you if you did pay for it. Had it free over here in ireland on boxnation. Cards like this happen every week all over the world, wouldn't be pissed off having to sit through, id be ****ing raging if i had to pay for it though.

You're right boxing is not big here so we have to pay. Kat's is my favourite fighter didn't bother checking out what was on the UC to be honest. buyer beware I guess. Darchynians next fight is on free to air hopefully that rates well.

I honestly gave it to mick in a close one. But wont argue the result.

New trainer, time off....doesnt matter mate. Kats is done as a top line fighter. Lots of wear and tear on his body after plenty of wars. Nothing can reverse that.

I hope he retires but i doubt he will.

You could be right about Kats retiring Jet but if he is to continue i would like the kid to stay here in the Uk , get a Top UK trainer and get a few decent sparring partners that charge a little higher than 80 bhat for their services .

Lol, the whole thai training camp thing cant be the best prep at that level can it. :patsch

I dunno why they persisted with it even when he was based in LA and had access to the best sparring in the world.

Its too late now though, nothing will change him, he is a damaged fighter. Id hate to see him start getting bashed up by up and comers or good fighters using his name.
