I think Katsidis had enough of the fight where he wanted it to be to make it close, but when he was there he just didn't have the variation. It's not like Burns picked him off all night and he couldn't get in like against The Ghost. How many times did he have Burns on the ropes? Burns defensive strategy was just about perfect to deal with the hooks, he mostly just let Kat blow his load with a combination, with the odd well timed counter mixed in. I just don't think Katsidis threw enough down the pipe to really have Burns worried about anything else but the left hook. He kept throwing a demented right hand hook too. Burns arms are long enough to cover most of his body so that didn't work either.

Overall Burns strategy was perfect, he edged at least 8 rounds purely with the jab on the outside, the odd left hook downstairs and even less frequently the right hand/uppercut. Then Kat gets close and is just completely ineffective, its hard to give him rounds when he fails to land anything that isn't on Burns arms.

 

I cant see how much stock can be taken out of the lads 4 fights which he won all by stoppage. He would of come on leaps and bounds imo and always had Degale's number. He could bang and had variety which would of helped to carry him higher than Groves or Degale imo.

 

Fair dues. I dnt like the ugly kid humor but DeGale's not that guy away from the camera.

 

Why are people pondering Katsidis' right hand so much? He's always thrown it like that.

 

Unfortunately I have to agree with this...the last fight that Sutherland had he looked all in and very disspirited

 

I guess it depends on what you expect from a fighter, and whether you think he can improve.

I just felt he was more uptight than anything else, and possibly getting caught woke him up. He said himself he is a slow starter so maybe that is something he can work on.

I think Groves will improve in every aspect, good team, good attitude IMO

 

Gutted Gauthier was robbed as PP are still taking bets and he's 9/2 with a draw at 30/1 Would have been worth a shot!

Sutherland got hit a LOT in his last fight vs Rasalev and Ian Darke was calling it a mini crisis in commentary.

Sutherland was comprehensively beaten by Degale in the Olympics, lost every second of every round.

 

He's an MMA commentator.
