That's the new excuse now ehh? People will say anything to discredit a fighter they dont like. Wasn't an excuse for Mike Jones vs Karass was it?

Fact is Kirkland fought his usual fight and out-gunned Angulo. His chin is still shaky, but he is a warrior.

it was a combo of the 2, gassing out and getting his arse kicked

he threw many punches against a man that just got knocked down but had his senses, and got caught off guard. Props to James.

I don't think he trained properly for this fight. But again, he has only fought 2 rounds in 2 years. He had no warmup coming in this fight.

I said that Kirkland could very well beat Angulo because of his ring rust and lack of activity in the last 2 years. Some fighters can throw as many punches as Angulo did in the first round and wouldn't gas like that. I don't think he was properly prepared to go 12 rounds.

no. Kirkland was not visibly shaken by that knockdown. It was simply people re-living the Ishida debacle and thinking he'd get ko'd.

The logic there is that the fighter with the inferior chin won and the fighter with the superior chin was stopped.

    Go figure.

Yeah, he gassed himself out, but Kirkland also fought intelligently after that as he backed off at times to try and avoid Angulo's big bomb counters, and he also worked to the body well in those last couple rounds.

A win is a win. No excuses. Angulo put himself in that situation and Kirkland did what an athlete does and took advantage of the opportunity. I tip my hat to Kirkland because I didn't think he and his shaky chin were capable of that.

You think that Mike Jones didn't punch himself out??? Angulo was in a bad shape but that Kirkland was probably going to beat him anyway. Props to Kirkland for proving everyone wrong when his career was on the line.
