I personally would like Smith to stay on with Katsidis in some capacity.

But def Katsidis would benefit from another experienced trainer in his corner.

Michael Katsidis should be with someone like Craig Christian. I love the way he gets his fighters ready for a fight, great win record too.
Maybe even someone like Jeff Fenech would be great in Kats corner.

fenech would not get the best outta kat,his style is to rev them up,that may work for sum but that is suicide for kat.it would be sorta same with lewis.

smith has more tech knowledge than CC.smith is the best man for the job and he may let kat work with other u.s trainers while they have been over there.

bet he has to deal with ten times more sharks over with the yanks than here.
smith has done a great job with kat and he keeps calm in the corner which gets the best outta kat for sure.stops him from goin kamakaze.

i see there has been more talk about this.

    what do u guys think?

considering he cannot afford too many more losses, he needs to adapt better or his value will go down quick smart.

Katsidis should retire, the guy is punch drunk, it was sad listening to his interview compared to how he spoke a few years ago.

This question always pops up...answer for me is NO. Its too late to change mick, he is what he is. No one can do much with a fighter whose best fights are behind him.

They have had a great association together, cant imagine mick will have too many fights left. He really should consider retirement....not that he cant compete with lots of fighters, he obviously can...but he doesnt need to take another punch. We dont want to see him fall right off the perch and start copping beatings. Even just looking at him in the corner today...it looks like he was really feeling it.

Too late for him to change anything IMO.

Retirement looks like a good option.

The time has come for changes or retirement. You would have to be close to the camp to know if a change of trainer is the answer though.

he is not that far from winning at the top tbh.

a few minor changes could make the difference between winning and losing in some of these title fights.

Ive said it a few times, After watching the poor advice in the corner time and time again. I think it would benifit Kats to have someone else in the corner. Smith obviously gets him fit, he just dosnt have the ability to give good instruction in the corner. He seems to panick or just give bad advice.

no mike needs a break from the sport, he should have had 6 months off after the beating he took after Guerrero, but it is easy for me to say that. I'm not getting offered overs over a 100 grand to fight someone. now he needs a break and start rebuilding his career at a perfect weight for him now. I think he shouldn't fight at 135 any more. move up a division or 2. stay with Smith, just take a break.
