Only problem is, once Ward wins the S6, he doesn't need to go to Canada. He will be the S6 winner having defeated the best SMWs in the world.
Bute, on the other hand has faced and beat nobody.
Bute needs to step up, not Ward.
So, why would Ward make it easy for Bute by allowing him to remain in his comfort zone. Ward will make plenty of money without Bute, but how much money will Bute earn without Froch or Ward?
I expect to see Froch make Bute fight in the UK, before Ward makes him come to Cali or Vegas. :yep

A rematch doesn't supersede anything. The results to both fights are still valid.

Bute showed in this fight that is an elite fighter ..... by far he has superior skills than the other SMWs ..... his footwork is unbelievable .... head/body movement , all is at a higher level ...... Ward , probably would be overwhelmed in a fight with Bute .... only Froch and Bika could give Bute some hard fights .....

Those two fans are real boxing fans, not fans of models and posers.

Ward will be the Super 6 winner, and Froch will be the runner up.
Both two fantastic accomplishments. What accomplishment does/will Bute have in comparison, beating on an old man in his back yard while not being skilled or decent enough to knock him out?

Froch will fill UK stadium and embarrass Bute. Watch and be humble.

I agree. But i guarantee you that Bute has bigger pull BECAUSE of numbers. Its really hard to get Bute out of Canada cuz half the friggin country comes to watch him fight! I dont think you can squeeze much juice out of an Oakland attendance though...

Its a real misconception. Its not that Bute is afraid to fight out of Canada, its just been almost impossible to get a BETTER venue than what the promoters get from Canada. You have to have a higher projected venue earning outside of Montreal (where Bute regularly fills in 15,000+ seats) in order to expect the promoter to move the venue. I dont think the neat idea "i think Bute needs to fight somewhere else" carries much water, when it comes to the financial end. Thats just the reality of it.

IF he could be matched w/ someone else who may pull in a comparable draw and then some, then he can be pulled out of Montreal. Kessler might be able pull that off in Denmark. Ward.... i dunno. Maybe, in Las Vegas. Still pretty close for hardcore fans from Oakland.

And yet, i admire the loyalty he has towards his fans too.....
Generally, a champion dont go around and travel elsewhere if he doesnt need to. He's already proven himself, and he's got what everyone else wants - the title belt. Challengers are the ones who travel to obtain a titlebelt - only haters would make it reversed....

Johnson WAS a step-up lol. Yet, we'll see where he goes now. It better be moar up. And theres no shame in losing as long as youre able to put your best foot forward and put on a damn good and brave account for yourself...

But what does even winning the super six mean really ? It doesn't give clarity. Calzaghe-Kessler gave more clarity, they had wiped out all the other challengers and the winner was going to be rightfully crowned the best SMW in the world. At the end of the day, even though the super six has been a brilliant tournament, its an unoffical tournament. Your trying to dismiss Bute's level of opposition but by taking out Miranda in style and beating Bika comfortably he clearly doesn't need to make the step up that your trying to convince yourself that he does. He beat those guys easier than Ward did and don't try and maintain Ward has brought his game on to another level since those fights. He does the same things still. Ward needs Bute, even if he beats Froch in December. Its not about whether you rate Bute or not, the Super six winner has to beat him to stake claim to be the best SMW. Same way as Bute couldn't be considered as the best SMW until he fights and beats the Froch-Ward winner.

Ward gets to fight Kessler again (to avoid Bute for 1 fight, as he said indirectly in an interview)

Bute gets to fight Froch - that'll be a helluva fight to watch! You know, both guys are kind of the same in style.... except Bute has better footwork, head movement, and punching prowess, and Froch has a better chin and not afraid to trade because of that chin

Ward will be rated #1 SuperMid by The Ring magazine if/when he becomes the Super6 Tournament Champion! All in all, a historical event. Four fighters entered w/o a loss. If Ward wins, he'll be the only 1 w/o a loss. There were 2 title belts involved. Its a travesty that Bute wasnt in the tournament, and i think he'll have to answer to that historically, whether he had a choice in it or not...

Bute has already said he'll face Ward in NY. Both men are very good at what they do with their contrasting styles. I'm not really sure who'll will win their eventual fight but I'm pretty excited about it.
