Kirkland just single handedly lit LMW up again, after it was hibernating.

I'm pissed. I was in New York for a friend's birthday last night. I made it to the 4th round before we had to leave. That was probably the best fight since the Gatti/Ward fights from the 4 rounds I've seen. I'll have to watch the rest of it tonight.

I can't lie, I picked Angulo myself, but the way people here were all "Kirkland's got a glass jaw blah blah", I knew that wasn't the case either. I know how he trains, and I knew how serious he was taking this fight. It was obvious he took Ishida VERY lightly and came in totally unprepared.

I thought Angulo would come in better prepared, but when I saw him gas in round 1, I knew that HE in turn took Kirkland lightly, which as we all saw was VERY stupid.

beyond the first round, it was a major ass kicking, albeit highly entertaining. Marquez/Vazquez had similar action but more competitive.

i was one of the few who said Kirkland would stop Angulo.

People were looking to much on Nobuhgiro Fight.
Kirkand was Fighting at 160 and looked fleshy and out of shape.
kirkland looked poor trained and very sluggish.
It was also obsious Kirkland underestimated Nobuhiro and took him lightly.
Also Nubuhiro hit Kirkland with Crisp, straight punches which Kirkland did not see.
It all went wrong in that night And I knew that was not the real Kirkland. Real Kirland was what we saw tonight. Kirkland had nothing to lose and was well trained with attitude this time it is all or nothing.

Edit now give me a medal or cookie :yep

they didn't know how to score rounds when you trade KOs and they knew it wouldn't get to 12 rounds so they don't give a ****.

This is the kind of beating that can permanently damage a fighter's self esteem.

Nothing is more damaging to the psyche of a come-forward brawler than actually being outgunned, outmanned, and out-toughed at your own game.

I hope Angulo can come back but it's going to be a tough road now.

no excuses whatsoever, James Kirkland is the man for what he did last night, and that fight entertained the **** out of me, but I feel like angulo was trained differently I feel like he was trained to box. does anyone else not think he was backed up way too easily, way too early? then again, it could have been kirkland's pressure...I just feel like perro didn't look like himself

This. This is what bothers me more than anything about the sport is the fair weather fans/bandwagoners. Both are good fighters and I had it a 50/50 fight with slight edge to Angulo but if Kirkland's chin held up, would get real interesting. But I knew that no matter who won, the maniacs would swoon in here and go crazy, especially if it was Kirkland because of what happened to him before. Makes you wish sometimes there was no internet around.

Yeah, Perro's only "himself" against tomato can's that can't "box" or dish right back at him what he dishes out.

Let's see: he was sick with the flu when he lost to Cintron. Now he's "not himself" against Kirkland.

    Hmm...
