I was watching the first round thinking, are these two of the dumbest boxers I've ever seen?

    I believe so.

Actually, vs Kirkland the best way to try to beat him is to catch him cold and blast him out of there in the first, sorta like Golota.

Kirkland's chin is actually not that bad once he gets warmed up and in a rythm. He is very vulnerable in the first round in particular it seems.

The Ishida fight was actually not that surprising to me since I had already watched the Allan Conyers fight in which something similar almost happened. Kirkland just needs a couple of rounds to really get going and if you let him off the hook early, he will take you to war.

But I agree that Angulo punched himself out and that was stupid.

Possibly this and in his previous performance he quickly won in round 1 too.

I think Angulo bought the hype that Kirkland was a pushover who had a name but would fold easily.

This fight was set-up to be an Angulo rollover, and it looks like Alfredo may have taken that too much to heart once he dropped Kirkland.

We'll see if Angulo can learn from his mistakes.

Angulo should get in better shape. Kirkland threw over 100 punches that first round compared to 74 for Angulo. Kirkland actually threw more punches in every round. I think Kirkland hitting him with all those big shots also had something to do with Angulo being "punched out".

All props to Kirkland and Wolfe on the win. Like Nazim said about Pacquiao: If you don't like how last night played out for Team Kirkland, you don't like boxing or people. You have to be happy for James. :happy
